This year, our annual Footsteps Trip Around the World has taken us to Mexico! 🇲🇽

Over the past few weeks, our whole school has been immersed in learning about Mexico’s rich history, vibrant traditions, culture, food and, of course, the excitement of the Football World Cup!!

To bring our learning to life, the whole school enjoyed a Mexican-inspired lunch at Taco Cantina, giving everyone a taste of the country we’ve been exploring.

At our school, learning goes far beyond the classroom. Our students are encouraged to be curious, make connections, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Bringing learning to life is what we do best!

💙 Footsteps Community Helpers at Work! 💙

Our Community Helpers Team have been busy, with a recent coin drive at Hurley’s, raising funds for NCVO. As well volunteering at the Humane Society Thrift Store, helping to organise their stock and keep the shop clean and tidy.

We are proud of their hard work and willingness to give back to our community. Well done, Community Helpers!

Congratulations to all of our students who were selected to compete in the All-Star Cricket, an honour reserved for the top player from each school. As Rally Champions, our school earned the distinction of having four boys selected to represent us.

A special congratulations to Mariana, who was part of the Blue Iguana Warriors team that claimed the Girls All-Star Championship.

Congratulations also to Matthew and Jamie, who helped lead the Silver Thatch Strikers to victory as Boys All-Star Champions.

Well done to Cosmo and Jack, who competed brilliantly for the Blue Iguana Warriors, finishing as Boys All-Star Runners-up.

The All-Star Games were a wonderful celebration of the season, showcasing exceptional batting, bowling, fielding, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We are incredibly proud of all five students for representing our school with such skill, determination, and enthusiasm. Their achievements reflect the strength of our cricket programme and the hard work they have shown throughout the season.

What a truly special afternoon at our 6th Annual Prize Giving Ceremony at the Marriott.

On Wednesday, we celebrated every single child in our school, recognising their individual successes, growth and contributions throughout the year. We honoured outstanding achievements in academics and sport, as well as effort, progress, school values and our much-coveted Make a Difference Prize.

We enjoyed performances from our singers, who raised the roof with Try Everything, The Right to Be Loved and The Power of My Voice. We lifted trophies, drew our PTA raffle, celebrated our Year 6 primary graduates and reflected on another incredible year of learning and growth.

The ceremony also included a very special farewell to Miss Emma, whose vision, kindness and dedication have helped shape Footsteps into the school it is today.

There were plenty of smiles, more than a few tears and countless moments of pride.

Above all, it was a beautiful celebration of everything that makes Footsteps so special and filled with love, pride and belonging.

We are so proud of this school and of every child who makes it so special. 🩵

What an incredible two days on Cayman Brac for our Surfers children! 💙

From hiking along the Bluff, exploring caves, swimming, climbing and abseiling, to visiting Le Soleil d’Or Farm and the museum, every moment was filled with adventure, teamwork and laughter.

Along the way, the children spotted some amazing Brac wildlife and nature too, including B***y Birds, towering agave trees and a fascinating orb-weaver spider web with its striking zigzag pattern woven through the centre!

We are so proud of the children for embracing every experience with such enthusiasm, resilience and kindness. These are the memories that last a lifetime. Thank you to Miss Sarah and Miss Catherine for taking the trip and providing such a great experience for the students. 🩵

Congratulations to these three talented performers who represented Footsteps and lit up the stage in the Musicians Ltd production of The Lion King Jr. this weekend.

We are especially proud of Liyah, who took on the leading role of adult Simba and delivered a truly outstanding performance. Her confidence, talent and stage presence shone throughout the show.

You are all stars and it was a joy to watch you perform. We couldn’t be prouder of everything you achieved on stage this weekend and all of the hard work behind the scenes - well done to all of you! Stars! 🌟🦁

Thank you so much to coach Luke from .polo.ky for showing our children the ropes in water polo during our PE lessons over the past few weeks.

The children have developed their swimming skills as well as ball control, passing accuracy, teamwork, communication, tactical thinking and resilience in open water.

An unforgettable way to build confidence both in and out of the water! And what a beautiful backdrop!

Our Tides class had so much fun visiting Culturama, learning traditional song and dances and even getting to ask the performers questions after the show!

A huge thank you to Cayman Cabana for visiting us and teaching our children all about farming in Cayman and the importance of buying and eating local. 🌱🥭

Luigi and Christina Moxam introduced us to Island Harvest and shared so many wonderful local treats and traditions, including fresh Cayman mangos, spicy mango soaked in local scotch bonnet and other local fruits like lime, coconut and breadfruit.

Thank you for such an engaging and delicious experience celebrating Cayman’s local produce and culture.

Congratulations to our Battle of the Books team who read their way through 12 books and ‘battled’ against 6 other primary teams, last Saturday morning! With 3 wins and 3 losses, they made their coach (Miss Becky) very proud. Well done, amazing team! 📕 🌟
