دعوة الهيئة الوطنية لمكافحة الفساد الموظفين العموميين إلى تقديم تصاريح الذمة المالية والدورية تمثل خطوة أساسية نحو تعزيز الشفافية وتقليل مخاطر الفساد في القطاع العام اللبناني. تساعد هذه التصاريح، إذا طُبِّقت وتحقق منها بشكل جدي، في ردع الإثراء غير المشروع وتضارب المصالح من خلال كشف الوضع المالي للمسؤولين أمام هيئات الرقابة. يجب أن تُدعم هذه الخطوة بمراجعة صارمة، ومسائلة قانونية، ونظام نشر تقارير مناسب حتى تساهم فعلاً في تعزيز النزاهة وثقة الجمهور بالحكم.

The banks’ threat to strike in response to the proposed “financial gap” law exposes how decades of corruption and lack of accountability have left Lebanon’s financial sector on the brink, forcing institutions and depositors into conflict instead of collaborative reform. Passing legislation that unfairly shifts the burden to banks and individuals without addressing the systemic corruption and mismanagement at the heart of the crisis will only deepen public mistrust and economic fragility. Genuine recovery requires transparent accountability for past financial misconduct, equitable responsibility among stakeholders, and strong anti-corruption safeguards to rebuild trust in the system.
