According to the Folk Research Centre Kwéyòl heritage must continue to be honored, shared, taught and preserved. We acknowledge the rich history of our culture and are ready to embrace it through song, dance and artistic display.

In light of this, SLUDTERA and The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs in St. Lucia will present a 2-day showcase under the theme: Entrepreneurs on the Rise through Diversity and Creativity.

It will take place from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. on October 9th 2023 at the Derek Walcott Square, Castries, and on October 12th 2023 at the Independence Square, Vieux Fort.

In true Koudmen fashion, let's collaborate as we eat, drink, buy gifts and utilize services that are 100% St. Lucian! Lovers of culture and creativity are invited to come out by the masses and come patronize our own.

According to the Cultural Development Foundation, Emancipation served as a launch pad for many of our traditional and creative expressions, in that not only were our ancestors provided with the opportunities to express themselves through dance, song etc., but they were now able to grow individually and as a community by utilizing their creative skills as the foundation for their social and economic success. One such restriction was the freedom of women to express themselves through their skill and talent.

With that being said Sludtera and Academy for Women Entrepreneurs - St. Lucia Alumni will celebrate Emancipation, under the theme; "Breaking Barriers: The Evolution of Women Entrepreneurs".

This two-day showcase will occur at the Derek Walcott Square in Castries on Monday, July 31st, and at the Independence Square in Vieux Fort on Thursday, August 3rd. Both events take place from 10 am to 6 pm.

We invite our fellow St. Lucians and lovers of culture and creativity, to come out in your large numbers to support our AWEsome St. Lucian women Entrepreneurs' by purchasing their goods and services. Let us stand show up and show out for our Nation's women!

We regret to inform all interested persons that there will be no new AWE program in St. Lucia this year 2023, which is a decision made by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs. We understand the impact that this program has had in the lives of many St. Lucian women who are now our alumni, of whom we are very proud. The current class of 2022-2023 is the last, for now, and will be culminating very soon. Continue to show them support as they embark on their various endeavors.

For those of you who have been anticipating a new intake of applications for AWE, please refer to MSConsultancy Inc. This company has taken on the responsibility of hosting a similar course to AWE called the Dream to Reality Business Plan Training Program. Applications for the first Cohort will open on July 3rd, 2023 to the general public, however, a little birdie informed us that pre-registrations for the first Cohort will be accepted on Friday, June 30th. MSConsultancy will be at the Business Coaching Showcase at the Gros Islet Human Resource Center. We recommend that you visit the booth/table to learn more about Dream to Reality and to be one of the first to pre-register.
