The Young Writers' Award Ceremony and Workshop was successfully conducted on Thursday 11th of June 2026 from 2.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. in the Peter Pillai Auditorium of Aquinas College of Higher Studies. It was conducted as part of the inception of the proposed Aquinas English Literary Association and subsequent Literary Magazine.

The workshop and award ceremony were held primarily to encourage the students of the Department of English to write in a creative manner that significantly deviates from their day-to-day academic writing styles. It also aimed to educate students on the publishing industry of Sri Lanka and the pathways that are open for them as writers.
