🏆🇨🇳🇱🇰 Celebrating Excellence in Chinese Language Learning!
On May 24, 2026, the Finals of the 19th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition (Sri Lanka Division) and the 2nd “Colombo Port City Cup · Chinese Bridge” Competition were successfully held at the Colombo Port City Sales Gallery.
Twenty outstanding finalists from across Sri Lanka showcased their Chinese language skills through speeches, Chinese cultural knowledge, and impressive talent performances, including music, Chinese opera, shadow puppetry, drama, and traditional arts.
🌟 Congratulations to Devni Ruwanya Kalansuriya (王天雅) from Southlands College, Galle, who was crowned Champion and will represent Sri Lanka at the Global Finals of the 19th Chinese Bridge Competition.
A heartfelt thank you to all participants, teachers, parents, judges, organizers, and supporters who made this event a great success. Together, we continue to strengthen the bridge of friendship and cultural exchange between Sri Lanka and China. 🤝✨

The 19th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition (Sri Lanka Division) and the 2nd “Colombo Port City Cup · Chinese Bridge” Competition brought together outstanding young Chinese language learners from across Sri Lanka.
From inspiring speeches to unforgettable cultural exchanges, students showcased their passion for the Chinese language and their dreams for the future.

#有朋自远方来 : A delegation led by Madhura Senevirathna, deputy minister of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education of Sri Lanka, visited the on May 14. Yu Yunfeng, director-general of the , and Yang Zhou, deputy director-general of the CLEC, met with the delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth exchanges on negotiating and signing Chinese language education cooperation agreements, developing local Chinese language teaching resources, training local Chinese language teachers and compound talents with "Chinese +" competencies, and leveraging the "iChinese" Learning Community to support Chinese language teaching.
The two sides reached a consensus on further carrying out pragmatic cooperation and promoting the development of Chinese language education in Sri Lanka.

Chasing dreams through Chinese and celebrating a bridge of friendship! 🇨🇳🤝🇱🇰
The Colombo Port City Sales Gallery was buzzing with energy on April 26th, 2026, as it hosted the semi-finals of the 19th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students and the 2nd “Colombo Port City Cup · Chinese Bridge” Competition. 🌏✨
From heartfelt speeches on the theme "Chasing Dreams Through Chinese, Living Youth to the Fullest" to impressive displays of talents including singing, dancing, musical instrument performances, calligraphy, and painting. Special highlights included clarinet performances, erhu performances, and a Chinese opera performance of “Birds on the Tree in Pairs”, which added diversity and excitement to the event.
50 talented students from across Sri Lanka showcased their incredible dedication to the language and culture.
We are thrilled to announce that 20 outstanding contestants have secured their spots for the National Final on May 24th! 🏆🔥

🌿 Lumbini Confucius Classroom at Sri Lanka International Tai Chi Day 🌿
Lumbini Confucius Classroom was honored to participate in the “International Tai Chi Day” celebration held at Galle Face Green, organized by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka together with local partners. More than 500 Tai Chi enthusiasts from across the country joined this special cultural event.
Our team proudly presented the traditional Chinese wellness exercise “Wu Qin Xi” (Five-Animal Exercises), showcasing the beauty and harmony of Chinese traditional culture. The performance received warm appreciation from the audience and organizers alike.
We are also excited to announce that Tai Chi classes will soon begin at Lumbini Confucius Classroom as part of our continuing efforts to promote Chinese culture and strengthen cultural exchange between China and Sri Lanka. 🇨🇳🇱🇰
