🌟 Five-Year Strategic Planning (2026 - 2031) Workshop at Gampola Zahira College 🏫✨
Gampola Zahira College successfully conducted its Five-Year Strategic Planning Workshop on Sunday, 24th May 2026, under the leadership of the Principal, Ash Sheikh M.A.M. Mashair.
The workshop brought together the academic staff, non-academic staff, School Development Executive Committee (SDEC), Past Pupils' Association (PPA), and well-wishers of the college, reflecting a strong collective commitment towards the future growth and development of the institution.
The session was facilitated by Dr. A. Fawzul Rahman (PhD, MBA, MIM/SL), Director of Mercy Education Campus, who served as the resource person. Through his professionalism, expertise, and insightful guidance, participants were able to engage in meaningful discussions and contribute towards formulating a strategic vision for the next five years.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. A. Fawzul Rahman for his invaluable contribution and to all members of the school community for their enthusiastic participation, support, and dedication to the continued success of Gampola Zahira College.

It is a matter of pride for us that Gampola Zahira College was named as the 4th school in the list of Sri Lanka's Police Cadet Initiation Schools in 1972.
Resuming the police cadet activities that had been inactive for some time, our children participated in the 18th Cadet Corps Selection Competition and won first place in the entire 18th Corps in 2026.
Warm congratulations to all the cadets, instructors and all those who supported this great achievement!

1972 වර්ෂයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පොලිස් ශිෂ්‍ය භට ආරම්භක පාසල් නාම ලේඛනයේ 4 වන පාසල ලෙස ගම්පොළ සහිරා විදුහලේ නාමය සනිටුහන් වූයේ අපගේ අභිමානයට කරුණකි.
කාලයක් අක්‍රීයව පැවති පොලිස් ශිෂ්‍ය භට ක්‍රියාකාරකම් නැවත ආරම්භ කරමින්, 18 වන ශිෂ්‍ය භට බළ ඇණි තේරීම් තරගාවලියට සහභාගී වී, 2026 වර්ෂයේ සමස්ත 18 වන බළ ඇණියේ ප්‍රථම ස්ථානය දිනා ගැනීමට අපගේ දරුවන් සමත් විය.

Warm Welcome to Our New Principal 🎉

On April 20, 2026, Gampola Zahira College proudly welcomed its new Principal, Captain M. A. M. Mashair, as he officially assumed duties.

A special reception was organized by the school administration to mark this memorable occasion. He was received with great warmth and respect by the entire school community, reflecting the strong unity and spirit of our institution.

We are excited to begin this new chapter under his guidance and look forward to the transformation he will bring to our beloved institution.

• Resolutions/Amendments must be submitted on or before the same deadline
Completed forms should be submitted to the PPA Office during the specified dates and times.

The Zahira College Gampola Masjid has been renovated and beautifully restored by the School Friends 80–93, in collaboration with the Old Zahirians.

The project included the restoration of the Masjid premises, the construction and illumination of the steps leading to the Masjid, and the planting of 1,000 coffee trees, a visionary step to ensure long-term financial sustainability for the Masjid.

This noble initiative stands as a shining example of faith, friendship, and community spirit where past pupils came together to serve a sacred cause and give back to their alma mater with gratitude and love.

The reopening ceremony was held on 26th October 2025, following the Asar prayer, under the distinguished patronage of Mr. A. L. M. Afsan, Principal of Zahira College, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest, and Mr. V. Maheshwaran, President of School Friends 80–93. The event was attended by several dignitaries, old boys, staff members, and well-wishers who joined in prayer and celebration.
This remarkable effort symbolizes the true spirit of Zahirians “We rebuilt with faith and reopened with joy.”

This outstanding achievement brings great pride to our school community.

🎶✨ *Magical Moments at Gampola Zahira College: Primary Section Concert!* ✨🎶
Our talented Grade 01 and 02 students, along with the adorable Cub Scouts, stole the spotlight at our recent school concert!
We were honored to have the esteemed presence of Ms. P. M. N. Begum, Assistant Director of Education from the Zonal Education Office Gampola, gracing the event with her presence!

Oath taking and certificate awarding ceremony of St. John Ambulance Brigade, Gampola Zahira College Division was held on 29th November 2023. Mr. Ajith Dissanayake - Additional District Commissioner graced the event as the Chief Guest and Mr. A. C. M. Inshaf - Assistant Commissioner NHQ participated as the guest of honor.
