The specialty of our Commerce Society is that the present society needs to do something new without doing ordinary things. MCCS likes to act parallel to the new technology and present Commercial world. Present MCCS wants to organize and do their plans as they like and they want to make it a reality with success. istory of the Commerce Society of Mahanama College runs back into year 1995 which has dated as the beginning of the Commerce Society of Mahanama College, Colombo 03. The Commerce Society of our school in that period had done the first Commerce Day in year 1996. It was held in S. S. Jayasinghe hall at Dehiwala glamorously. On that day the chief guest was the President of Youth Services Mr. Sunil Jayantha Nawarathne. Since that period still our Commerce Society was able to held a Commerce Day annually with the main support and help of one of the teachers in our school whose name is Mr. Thusith Thilina Maalagoda. Commerce Society of our school in 1997 was able to held the Commerce Day in the Eliphinston hall and the chief guest was on of the former Minister of Trade Mr. Tissa T. Wickramasinghe. In 1998 Commerce Society of Mahanama College had also organized a Teachers’ Day to respect the great service. So as with the help of the Golden History of the Commerce Society of Mahanama College, in present we are trying to have glamorous and interesting year with various kind of projects and a marvellous Commerce Day. That will be the 18th annual Commerce Day of our school.
