The SLIIT Gavel Club successfully completed its 208th Educational Meeting, held in true Star Wars fashion, bringing the galaxy far, far away a little closer to our very own SLIIT University.
This intergalactic session was hosted by the Toastmasters of the day: Gavelier Pavan who was cosplaying as a little kiddo of a jedi, guiding the light side of the Force with calm wisdom and balance, while Gavelier Mahira commanded the strength of the Dark Side as a Sith (or rather sick, which is why she wears a mask), bringing just the right amount of chaos to keep the galaxy in order.
The meeting saw 20+ Gaveliers in attendance, united across the Republic and the Empire, coming together for an engaging and energetic session. The program featured 3 beautifully crafted prepared speeches and 6 fast-paced impromptu speeches, each one battling it out like Jedi duels of wit and words.
Adding a special twist to the meeting, the meeting also featured a Star Wars–themed “Smash or Pass Game,” where the true colours of certain Gaveliers were exposed.
And as always, the Force of Gavel was strong with this one.
May the Gavel be with you… always.
