🇫🇷🇱🇸 What a remarkable week for Franco-Basotho cooperation!

Last week highlighted the strength of the partnership between France and Lesotho through education, culture and language.

✨ Celebrating 45 years of Alliance Française de Maseru and its commitment to intercultural dialogue and French language promotion.

🤝 Hosting the signing of a Declaration of Intent between France and Lesotho, signed by H.E. David Martinon, Ambassador of France to Lesotho, and Hon. Ntoi Rapapa, Minister of Education and Training, to strengthen cooperation in education, higher education and training.

🚀 Launching the Sesotho translation of The Little Prince by Nthatisi Bulane, featuring a special cover adaptation by AFM graphic designer Relebohile Pasa and a wonderful performance by students from our partner school, Seventh Day Adventist School 👏🏼
The project was made possible thanks to P.I.A.F and Jean-Marc Probst Foundation, with the support of IFAS and EUD to Lesotho 🇱🇸

A huge thank you to the AFM team, our Board, partners and supporters whose dedication makes these initiatives possible 🫶

Together, we continue to build bridges between France and Lesotho through education, culture and dialogue❤️

🇫🇷✨ Bastille Day 2026 & 45 Years of Alliance Française de Maseru ✨🇫🇷

What a memorable celebration last Thursday, as we marked both Bastille Day 2026 and the 45th anniversary of the Alliance Française de Maseru; a milestone that reflects decades of cultural exchange, friendship, and cooperation between France and Lesotho 🇫🇷🇱🇸

We were deeply honored by the presence of the French delegation led by Ambassador of France to South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi, H.E. David Martinon, as well as Hon. Minister of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture, Ntate Mputi Mputi, and Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Ntate Limpho Tau. Their presence highlighted the strong and enduring ties between our two nations 🤝✨

The afternoon was a true celebration of friendship, culture, and shared values. It was also an opportunity to reflect on 45 years of AFM’s commitment to promoting language, arts, and intercultural dialogue in Lesotho 💙

A heartfelt thank you to our partners (Ouh La La, Thabo choirs), sponsors (Lesotho Flour Mills), board members, friends of the Alliance, and everyone who joined us in making this occasion so special.
Together, we continue to build bridges between communities and cultures.

We are proud to remain the place Where France Meets Lesotho, and we look forward to many more years of connection, creativity, and collaboration 🌍💫

🇫🇷🇱🇸
