The Ministry of Education and Training - Lesotho together with implementing partners are today reviewing the School Readiness Program implementation since 2020, looking at the status and planning for a sustainable way forward.

Amongst many challenges, climate change and violence in schools seem to be increasingly affecting the education system and outcomes. As Network of Early Child Development of Lesotho participates in the Ministry of Education and Training - Lesotho Education Sector Analysis validation workshop today, we are looking forward to seeing how these and others are identified and analysed to better inform the creation of the new Education Sector Plan 2027-2037.

Zambia 🇿🇲 has made free education a permanent legal right after President Hakainde Hichilema signed the Education (Amendment) Bill into law.

The legislation guarantees free education in all public schools from early childhood to secondary level and prohibits schools from denying access or charging fees to learners whose families cannot afford them.
