Life and story of a Theravada Buddhist monk from Thailand

19/06/2026

We have 2 options in our life: to be a victim of our experiences or to be a creator of our reality.

If we choose to be a victim, we will blame external events, people, government, weather etc. for everything that happens to us. If we choose to be the creator, we understand that everything that happens to us comes from our own mind; it's our own creation. You reap what you sow, as the saying goes. If so, we understand that we are in charge of what we do, say and think, and that it all creates consequences - our reality. This way, we take full responsibility of our life. We understand that there is nothing and noone to blame.

Day to day life might be filled with automated responses which does not allow us to become truly conscious and notice our habits. Finding time to come to a retreat might be beneficial to allow oneself to stop and reflect; to see ourselves away from the usual reality.
