Senior Accountant
π Location: Thuwana Township, Yangon
π« Industry: International Education / School Management
π€ Reports To: Management and BOD
We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Senior Accountant to oversee our financial recording operations and ensure the integrity of our school's financial data. You will review the work of junior team members, lead closing processes, and ensure that our Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and cash flow forecasts are precise and actionable for leadership.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Financial Closing & Reporting: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing cycles. Prepare final Trial Balances, P&L statements, and Balance Sheets.
β’ Oversight & Review: Monitor and review daily transactions, payroll registers, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset ledgers managed by junior accounting staff.
β’ Tuition & Revenue Management: Oversee the student billing cycle, manage accounts receivable (tuition fees, enrollment deposits), and monitor aging reports.
β’ Cash Flow & Treasury: Conduct detailed cash flow analysis and forecasting to ensure optimal liquidity for school operations and capital expenditure.
β’ Tax & Compliance: Supervise local tax filings (e.g., Commercial Tax, Withholding Tax, Personal Income Tax) ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
β’ Education: Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or holding LCCI Level 3 / ACCA part-qualified).
β’ Experience: 5 years of experience in an accounting role (experience in an educational institution or service industry is a plus).
β’ Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, tracking sheets) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or custom ERP systems).
β’ Languages: Good communication skills in English and Myanmar language.
β’ Attributes: High level of integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict monthly deadlines.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Junior Accountant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will be the engine of our daily financial operations, managing everything from basic cash books to assisting with monthly financial statements. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience in a structured, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Daily Bookkeeping & Ledger Management: Record accurate journal entries, maintain the cash book, and manage petty cash disbursements.
β’ Banking & Reconciliation: Perform routine bank reconciliations and track cash flow movements.
β’ Receivables & Payables: Generate school fee invoices, track incoming student accounts receivable, and process payments for vendor invoices and payables. Vendor & Procurement Support.
β’ Payroll & Logistics: Assist in monthly payroll processing and maintain tracking lists for school logistics, including the vehicle and generator fuel list.
β’ Asset & Inventory Control: Maintain the schoolβs fixed asset register and ensure accurate tracking of school property. Fixed Asset Tagging.
β’ Financial Reporting Support: Assist in preparing the Trial Balance updates, Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, and Balance Sheets for the management team. Audit Preparation.
β’ Compliance & Tax: Ensuring local tax withholdings (like commercial tax or withholding tax on services or income tax) are accurately recorded in journal entries.
