မေလ ၂ ရက်နေ့ မန္တလေးမှာလုပ်တဲ့ MMELT conference တစ်ခုမှာ audience တစ်ယောက်က ဒီလိုမေးခွန်း မေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။

“အသက်ကြီးတဲ့ teachers တွေက သူတို့ senior ဖြစ်တယ်ဆိုပြီး အသက်ငယ်တဲ့ teachers တွေကို နေရာမပေးချင်တဲ့အခါ ဘယ်လို ဆက်ဆံသင့်လဲ” တဲ့။

အဲ့ဒီမေးခွန်းကို ကြားတဲ့အချိန်မှာ ကျွန်မရဲ့ first instinct က “old” နဲ့ “young” ဆိုတဲ့ label တွေထက် “novice teacher” နဲ့ “experienced teacher” ဆိုတဲ့ perspective နဲ့ ပိုကြည့်ချင်မိတာပါ။ ဒီလိုကြည့်ဖို့လည်း ပြန်ဖြေခဲ့ပါတယ်။

Experience ရှိတဲ့ teachers တွေမှာ classroom wisdom နဲ့ real-life understanding တွေ ရှိတယ်။
တစ်ဖက်က novice teachers တွေမှာ new ideas, energy နဲ့ adaptability တွေရှိတယ်။

အဲ့ဒီမေးခွန်းကို ပြန်ဖြေရင်း ကျွန်မအတွက် အမြဲပြန်သတိရမိတာတစ်ခုက အုပ်ထိန်းသူတွေဟာ ကျောင်းရဲ့ customers တွေတင်မဟုတ်ဘဲ learning partners တွေလည်း ဖြစ်တယ်ဆိုတာပါ။

တခါတလေ အုပ်ထိန်းသူတွေက ရလဒ် ကိုပဲ အောင်မြင်မှုလို့ မြင်နိုင်တယ်။ တခါတလေ language learning က အချိန်ယူရတယ်၊ သင်ယူသူရဲ့ ယုံကြည်မှု တိုးတက်အောင် လုပ်ရတယ်၊ အမှားတွေလုပ်ရင်း တိုးတက်တာဖြစ်တယ်ဆိုတာ မသိသေးတာတွေ ဖြစ်လာနိုင်တယ်။

ဒါကြောင့် teachers တွေအနေနဲ့ “သင်ပေးတာ” ကို ကျောင်းသားတွေအပေါ်တင်မကဘဲ အုပ်ထိန်းသူတွေနဲ့လည်း ဆက်လုပ်ဖို့ လိုတယ်ထင်မိပါတယ်။

Parent-teacher meetings တွေ၊ sharing sessions တွေ၊ short educational conversations လေးတွေကတဆင့် “ကလေး ဘာသင်နေသလဲ” ထက် “ဘာကြောင့် ဒီလိုသင်နေသလဲ” ကို ရှင်းပြပေးနိုင်ရင် partnership ပိုကောင်းလာမယ်ထင်ပါတယ်။

ကလောမှာ ဒီလအစပိုင်း MMELT conference မှာ panelist အနေနဲ့ ပါဝင်ခဲ့တုန်းက ပရိတ်သတ် တစ်ယောက်က မေးခဲ့တဲ့ မေးခွန်းတစ်ခုကို အခုထိ စဉ်းစားနေမိတုန်းပါ။

“Behavioral, cognitive, emotional engagement ဆိုတဲ့ ၃ ခုလုံး အတန်းထဲမှာ တကယ်ဖြစ်နေတယ်ဆိုတာကို teacher တစ်ယောက်အနေနဲ့ ဘယ်လို သိနိုင်မလဲ” တဲ့။

အဲ့ဒီမေးခွန်းက အဖြေ ပေးပြီးတာနဲ့ ပြီးသွားတဲ့ မေးခွန်း မဟုတ်ဘဲ ကိုယ့် teaching practice ကို ပြန်ကြည့်စေတဲ့ reflection တစ်ခု ဖြစ်သွားတယ်။

တခါတလေ ကျောင်းသားတွေ အတန်းထဲမှာ တိတ်နေလို့ disengaged လို့ ထင်မိနိုင်တယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် သူတို့ စဉ်းစားနေကြတာလည်း ဖြစ်နိုင်တယ်။

တချို့က active participation ရှိပေမယ့် emotionally safe မဖြစ်သေးတာလည်း ရှိနိုင်တယ်။

အဲ့ဒါကြောင့် engagement ကို “participation” တစ်ခုတည်းနဲ့ မတိုင်းနိုင်ဘူးဆိုတာ ပိုသဘောပေါက်လာမိတယ်။

မနေ့က ရတဲ့ အတွေ့အကြုံပေါ်မူတည်ပြီး ပို့စ်ရေးပြီးတော့ ပြန်စဉ်းစားဖြစ်တာက “လုပ်ငန်းတိုင်းမှာ Customer service အရေးကြီးတယ်” ဆိုတဲ့စကားကို ကျွန်မ အရမ်းသဘောတူပါတယ်။

ဒါပေမယ့် အချိန်ကြာလာလေလေ ကျွန်မ ပိုနားလည်လာတာတစ်ခုက Customer service ကောင်းဖို့လိုသလို Communication ethics လည်း အရေးကြီးတယ်ဆိုတာပါ။

လူတိုင်းက ကိုယ့် field ထဲမှာ professional ဖြစ်နေဖို့ လိုတယ်လို့ ကျွန်မ ယုံတယ်။

အခုခေတ်မှာ “Customer is always right” ဆိုတဲ့စကားကို တချို့က “ဘာမဆို ပြောခွင့်ရှိတယ်” ဆိုတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်နဲ့ သုံးလာကြတာတွေ့ရတယ်။

တကယ်တော့ မှားတာမှန်တာထက်
'ဘယ်လိုပြောလဲ' ဆိုတာက ပိုအရေးကြီးပါတယ်။

ကျွန်မတို့က ပညာရေးလုပ်ငန်းလုပ်နေတဲ့သူတွေဖြစ်တော့ အုပ်ထိန်းသူတွေရဲ့ စိတ်ပူမှုတွေ၊ မကျေနပ်မှုတွေကို နားလည်ဖို့ အမြဲကြိုးစားရသလို ကြိုးလည်းကြိုးစားပါတယ်။

Professional ဆိုတာ အလုပ်လုပ်တဲ့သူဘက်ကပဲ စိတ်ရှည်ရမယ်၊ ခံရမယ် လို့ဆိုလိုတာမဟုတ်ဘူးလို့ ကျွန်မမြင်တယ်။

RESPECT ဆိုတဲ့ လေးစားမှု ကို နှစ်ဖက်စလုံးက ထိန်းပေးနိုင်တဲ့ ဆက်ဆံရေးကပဲ healthy relationship ဖြစ်တာပါ။

ကိုယ်က service ပေးနေတဲ့သူဖြစ်လို့ လူတိုင်းရဲ့ စိတ်ခံစားချက်ကို နားလည်ပေးဖို့ လိုသလို..... တစ်ဖက်ကလည်း
ရှေ့မှာရှိနေတဲ့သူက လူသားတစ်ယောက်ပဲဆိုတာ မမေ့သင့်ဘူးထင်တယ်။

နောက်ဆုံးတော့ စကားပြောပုံတစ်ခုက
