Pre-K Wow ISM with a Sustainable Fashion Show

Looking back on some of the memorable moments from the past school year, the Pre-K Sustainable Fashion Show was a truly creative and inspiring highlight. Students and teachers transformed reused and recycled materials into unique fashion designs and brought them to life on the runway through a special fashion show.

The purpose of the event was to encourage students to think about environmental responsibility and understand how even small actions can help protect the world around us. Through creativity and collaboration, our young learners discovered that they can make a positive impact on the planet in meaningful ways.

ပြီးခဲ့တဲ့ စာသင်နှစ်ရဲ့ အမှတ်တရအချို့ ကို ပြန် ကြည့်လိုက်မယ်ဆိုရင် Pre-K ကျောင်းသားလေးတွေရဲ့ " Sustainable Fashion Show" က ဖန်တီးနိုင်စွမ်းအပြည့် နဲ့ စိတ်ဝင်စားဖို့ ကောင်းခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ကျောင်းသား/သူ နဲ့ ဆရာမတွေက ပြန်လည် အသုံးပြုနိုင်တဲ့ (reused and recycled) ပစ္စည်းတွေကို ဖက်ရှင်ဒီဇိုင်းများအဖြစ် ပြောင်းလဲခဲ့ကြပြီး fashion show အဖြစ်နဲ့ ဖန်တီးခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။ သူတို့ရဲ့ ရည်ရွယ်ချက်ကတော့ သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ဆိုင်ရာ တာဝန်ယူမှုနဲ့ သေးငယ်တဲ့ လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်များက ပဲ နေထိုင်ရာ ကမ္ဘာပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ကို ဘယ်လိုမျိုး ကာကွယ်ပေးနိုင်မလဲဆိုတာ စဥ်းစားတတ်ဖို့ကို ကျောင်းသားတွေအတွက် တိုက်တွန်းပေးခဲ့တာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

KG Students Discover the Hidden World of Plants

During the previous school year, our Elementary students participated in a variety of STEMSCAPE learning experiences. Among them, the Plant = Tastic Science exploration for Kindergarten students was especially engaging, combining hands-on activities with exciting discoveries. From solving plant-themed puzzles to creating their own mini gardens, our young learners explored the fascinating world of plants through interactive learning.

One of the greatest strengths of STEMSCAPE is its emphasis on learning by doing. These hands-on experiences help nurture children’s curiosity, creativity, and confidence during the early childhood years, laying a strong foundation for future learning and growth.

ပြီးခဲ့တဲ့ ကျောင်းစာသင်နှစ်အတွင်းမှာ Elementary ကျောင်းသားလေးတွေ အတွက် STEMSCAPE လေ့လာမှုတွေ အများအပြားရှိခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အဲ ထဲကမှ KG ကျောင်းသားလေးတွေရဲ့Plant = Tastic Science လေ့လာရေးက လက်တွေ့လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်တွေနဲ့အတူ စိတ်ဝင်စားဖို့ကောင်းခဲ့ပါတယ်။ Puzzle game ကနေ Mini garden လေးတစ်ခု ပုံဖော်လာတဲ့အထိ အပင်တွေရဲ့အကြောင်းကို KG ကလေးတွေက လေ့လာခဲ့ကြတာပါ။ Stemscape သင်ယူမှုရဲ့ အဓိက အားသာချက်က လက်တွေ့လုပ်ဆောင်ရတဲ့အချက်ပါပဲ။ ဒီလက်တွေ့သင်ယူမှုကပဲ Early Childhood Stage မှာ သူတို့ရဲ့ သိချင်စိတ်၊ တီထွင်ဖန်တီးနိုင်စွမ်းနဲ့ ယုံကြည်မှုကိုရရှိလာဖို့အထောက်အကူ ဖြစ်စေတာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

From Classroom Inquiry to Published Magazine

Students gain the greatest value from education when they are able to apply their knowledge in meaningful and practical ways. During the previous academic year, Grade 4 students integrated what they had learned in Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts to produce a class magazine titled Waves and Technology.

Working collaboratively as researchers, writers, editors, and designers, the students took ownership of every stage of the process, bringing their magazine to life through teamwork and dedication. On the day of the launch, they shared their learning journey with parents and teachers and presented the purpose and outcomes of their publication with confidence.

ISM is always proud of the achievements of our elementary students, especially when they are able to create and publish work of this quality. Moving forward, the school remains committed to supporting students’ continued growth and development in partnership with the wider ISM community.

ကျောင်းသားတွေ ပညာသင်ယူရခြင်းရဲ့ အကျိုးရှိဆုံး ကဏ္ဍကတော့ သူတို့ရရှိတဲ့ ဗဟုသုတတွေကို လက်တွေ့ပြောင်းလဲနိုင်အောင် ဖန်တီးရခြင်းပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ပြီးခဲ့တဲ့ စာသင်နှစ်အတွင်းမှာ Grade 4 ကျောင်းသားလေးတွေက Science ၊ Social Studies နဲ့ Language arts ဘာသာရပ်များမှ သင်ယူခဲ့သမျှကို ပေါင်းစပ်ပြီး Waves and Technology ခေါင်းစဥ်ဖြင့် Class Magazine ကို ထုတ်ဝေခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။

ကျောင်းသားလေးတွေက researchers ၊ writers၊ editors နဲ့ designers တွေအဖြစ် ကဏ္ဍအသီးသီးမှ သူတို့ကိုယ်တိုင် ပူးပေါင်းပါဝင်ပြီး Magazine တစ်ခုထွက်ပေါ်လာတဲ့အထိ အကောင်ထည်ဖော်ခဲ့ကြတာပါ။ Launch လုပ်တဲ့နေ့မှာပဲ သူတို့လျှောက်လှမ်းခဲ့ကြတဲ့ သင်ကြားမှုခရီးစဥ်ကို မိဘ ဆရာ/မ များနဲ့ မျှဝေခဲ့ကြပြီး Magazine ထုတ်ဝေရခြင်းရဲ့ ရည်ရွယ်ချက်ကိုပါ ကျောင်းသားတွေက တင်ပြခဲ့ကြပါတယ်။

ဒီလို Magazine project ကို သူတို့ကိုယ်တိုင်ထုတ်ဝေနိုင်မှုကနေ Elementary ကျောင်းသားများရဲ့ အောင်မြင်မူကို ISM က အမြဲဂုဏ်ယူလျက်ရှိနေပါတယ်။ ရှေ့လာမယ့်ပညာသင်နှစ်များမှာလည်း ကျောင်းသားတွေ ပိုမိုတိုးတက်လာစေဖို့အတွက် ISM က Community နဲ့အတူ အစဥ်တစိုက် အကောင်ထည်ဖော်ဆောင်လျက် ရှိနေပါတယ်။

🏆 Reflecting on a Season of Achievement

As all students are enjoying their school holiday, the school would like to take a moment to celebrate a notable achievement from the previous academic year. At the Yangon Regional Round of the World Scholar’s Cup held on May 23rd, ISM students competed with outstanding performance and successfully advanced to the Global Round.

From debating and writing performances to demonstrating critical thinking, collaboration, and academic excellence, our students consistently showcased their strengths throughout the competition.

ISM proudly congratulates all students who participated in the World Scholar’s Cup. At the same time, their determination, hard work, and achievements continue to serve as an inspiring example to the entire ISM community to this day.

Welcoming New Faculty for 2026–27!

ISM warmly welcomes Mr. Pete Lawton as our new Secondary Math Teacher.

Mr. Lawton brings extensive experience in international education. Most recently, he served as a Mathematics Learning Leader and CAS Coordinator in Lagos, Nigeria. He also has strong expertise in the IB Diploma Programme and high school curriculum development.

Holding a degree in Chemical and Process Engineering, Mr. Lawton is passionate about helping students develop a deeper understanding of mathematics through inquiry-based learning. He is excited to support ISM students in strengthening their mathematical skills and to become an active member of the ISM community.

Outside the classroom, Mr. Lawton enjoys outdoor cooking and fishing. As he begins his journey in Yangon, he is also looking forward to exploring the local culture and discovering new cuisines.

Mr. Lawton ဟာ အားလပ်ချိန်တွေမှာ ချက်ပြုတ်ရတာကိုနှစ်သက်သူတစ်ဦးဖြစ်ပြီး ငါးဖမ်းရတာကို ဝါသနာပါသူဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ယခု ရန်ကုန် ပြောင်းရွှေ့လာချိန်အတွင်း ဒေသယဥ်ကျေးမှုနဲ့ အစားအစာ အသစ်တွေကို စူးစမ်းဖို့အတွက်လည်း သူက မျှော်လင့်နေပါတယ်။
