During the month of May, the school library transformed into a debating arena, where Sixth Form students are given the opportunity to argue ‘in favour’ or ‘against’ a chosen proposition. Organised yearly as part of the PDP Programme, debating provides students with a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on research skills, public speaking skills, and working as a team.

Each proposition was chosen by the students themselves, namely:
The European Union should significantly increase investment in defense. AI companions are beneficial for young people’s mental health.
Microplastics in the human body are a serious health risk.

We would like to thank all those involved with the preparation and set-up of the library. Well done to all the students!

As part of their continuous assessment, Prep 5 students put their creativity, teamwork and research skills to work by producing brochures that highlight Malta’s rich culture, heritage, and traditions. Well done all!

The EkoSkola Committee recently organised a nature-themed morning for the families of the members of the EkoSkola Committee, the School Student Council, and the Alive Pastoral Team. The event aimed to foster a deeper appreciation of the environment while encouraging families to connect with nature and learn more about local conservation efforts.

Participants enjoyed an interactive online quiz about Xrobb l-Għaġin Nature Park and Sustainable Development Centre, completed a nature observation checklist, and visited the Wildlife Rescue Centre, where they learned about the care and rehabilitation of injured wildlife.

We would also like to extend our congratulations to Martina Sant'Angelo and her mother, who marked the occasion by adopting a baby turtle; a wonderful gesture that supports local conservation initiatives and highlights the importance of protecting our natural heritage.

Over the past month, parents had the opportunity to attend a series of four Positive Discipline talks led by Suzanne Mohnani and Josette Mifsud, experienced counsellors and educators. The final session took place last week, bringing the programme to a successful closure.

Throughout the four sessions, a variety of parenting topics were explored, including understanding children's behaviour, setting effective boundaries, fostering emotional regulation, encouraging positive sibling relationships, and promoting respectful communication. Parents were introduced to practical tools and strategies designed to support positive discipline and strengthen family relationships.

Throughout the scholastic year, every class participates in at least one nature outing to nurture an appreciation for the natural environment. As part of this initiative, the Prep 1 pupils visited Ta' Qali, where they explored the outdoors and engaged in a creative, hands-on activity.

The children were provided with a face template and invited to create imaginative collages using natural materials they gathered, such as sticks, acorns, and leaves. Each collage was unique, reflecting the pupils’ creativity, individuality, and artistic expression.
The outing concluded with the reading of a nature-themed story, which further enriched the experience and encouraged a deeper appreciation of the beauty and wonder of the natural world.
