Our incredible Verdala International School Grade 7 students recently showed what true community spirit and leadership look like! They stepped up to organize a fantastic fundraising initiative supporting the Malta Society for the Protection and Care of Animals .
To raise the funds, the students organised two main activities: A Run/Walk-a-thon and A Bake Sale. Their hard work culminated in a special presentation ceremony where the students met with a MSPCA representative to hand over the fundraising cheque.
This inspiring initiative truly reflects the core values of the IB curriculum - taking compassionate action to make a tangible, positive impact on the local community! We are very proud of our students, and excited about continuing our partnership with the MSPCA next year.

School is a little sweeter because of the incredible people in it!
As we wrap up another busy and successful scholastic year, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the heart and soul of our school - our amazing staff.
This year brought its fair share of challenges, changes, achievements, and milestones. Through it all, our team continued to show up for our students, their colleagues, and our wider school community with unmatched dedication, professionalism, resilience, and care. For that, we are truly grateful!
To celebrate the end of the year and simply say a massive thank you, we surprised everyone with an ice cream van on campus so that every member of staff could enjoy a well-deserved treat!
Thank you for everything you do. We hope everyone has a fantastic, well-deserved summer break!

A moment to remember!
At the beginning of April, Ariana took the stage at the historic Manoel Theatre in Valletta, Malta's national theatre, where she performed in the annual Easter Show Movie Magic, a spectacular production that brings together the most talented young performers from across the island.
After passing a highly competitive selection process alongside Maltaβs top young talent, she shared the stage with professional actors, singers, and an orchestra. The energy was electric, the acrobatics were flawless, and the audience applause said it all!
Way to go Ariana!

Future leaders in the making!
Yesterday, our Grade 10 students beautifully demonstrated the real-world impact of the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework at our Career Expo!
Embodying the IB Learner Profile as Inquirers and Thinkers, our students looked far beyond basic job descriptions to conduct robust, data-driven global research. Putting their Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills into practice, they evaluated salary ranges, critically assessed the future effects of AI on their chosen fields, identified core university subjects needed for their fields, and transformed the high school gym into a vibrant networking hub.
The students also had the chance to present their research to our Grade 9, Grade 5, and Grade 4 students. Giving our younger students insights into what they can expect in the future - taking advantage of peer-on-peer learning.
This immersive experience did more than just prepare them for the future workforce. It gave them the exact insights needed to make informed, purposeful choices for their upcoming IB subject selections.

Empowering our students with knowledge! Today, our Grade 10 students attended a crucial sexual health and prevention workshop run by the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Department for Health Regulation.
We were thrilled to host specialist sexual health nurses from the government health department, who delivered an interactive and informative session. Our students engaged in vital discussions around STIs, contraception, navigating risky situations, and making informed, healthy choices for their futures.
Huge thank you to the healthcare team for sharing their expertise and creating a safe space for these important conversations! π
