MCAST Institute for the Trades

During the Open Day on 19 June, prospective students visiting the Institute for the Trades immersed themselves in the exciting range of workshops and courses available. Through live demonstrations by MCAST students and hands-on activities using professional tools and equipment, visitors gained valuable insight into their chosen fields of study and experienced what life as a student at the Institute for the Trades is all about.

This academic year, another course offered by the Institute for the Trades was the Level 1 Certificate in Precious Metalworks. Throughout the course, learners gained valuable hands-on experience in Silversmithing, Goldsmithing, Filigree and Gilding techniques. Learners developed these skills in a workshop-based environment with practical sessions.

Well done to the commitment shown by learners in this course.

This academic year, the Institute for the Trades offered the Level 2 Certificate in Trowel Trades. Throughout the course, learners gained valuable hands-on experience in tile-laying, plumbing, insulation, plastering and painting amongst others. Learners developed these skills in a workshop-based environment with hands-on sessions.

This academic year, the Institute for the Trades offered the Level 1 Certificate in Textile Technique. Throughout the course, learners gained valuable hands-on experience in weaving, embroidery, sewing and traditional lace making, developing practical skills in a workshop-based learning environment.
