Goodbye, Mr West!
On Tuesday, our Primary school held a special and moving assembly to bid farewell to our beloved Head, Mr Hannes van der Westhuysen, lovingly known as Mr West.
From Reception to Grade 6, our students recited poems, sang beautiful songs, and shared their favorite memories about him. This assembly was also the opportunity for teachers, other staff members, and parents to demonstrate their affection toward Mr West, by showering him with gifts and prayers.
The moment ended with our traditional walk of honour from the Pavilion to the Hub.
Dear Mr West, you will be missed! But we thank God for your time at Lighthouse, and we wish you all the best in your next adventure!

Our Grade 9s represented Lighthouse among the 206 students from across Mauritius who participated in the 2026 Math Competition, at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre, on Wednesday, 10 June.
The competition was extremely challenging, with only 17 students advancing to the final round. While our students did not progress to the finals, they gained valuable experience and were exposed to intense problems that required logical reasoning, creativity, and critical thinking.
We are proud of Vivaan Baichu, Adham Tunda, Yohan Pantchoo, and William Chan Lun for their efforts, thank Ms Megan Apple for her support, and commend them for representing Lighthouse with enthusiasm and determination!

In May, our Grades 10, 12 and 13 French and French Literature classes had the opportunity to attend a live theatrical performance at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute presented by the talented NovArt theatre troupe.
The play was one of the great classics of French literature "Le Château de ma mère" by renowned French author, Marcel Pagnol.
What a wonderful experience for our learners to see the characters they have studied come to life!

What rimes with the best time of May? Lower Primary Sports Day!
Last Friday, our Reception, Grade 1 and Grade 2 champions had the opportunity to engage in fun races and games in front (and with!) their beloved parents. Such a great time for our little ones to do sports while enjoying themselves with their teachers and families!
Tell us: which kind of activities do you enjoy doing with your little ones to spend time?
