Educating a girl is more than transforming one individual at a time. It improves their families, communities and even nations. Educating girls also yields spectacular social benefits for the current generation and those to come. We have to strive for girls’ education because girls are mothers, teachers and doctors.

Some of the girls under H7 assisted at home school work to keep them busy
In the H7 project we identify the needy bright girl students. After some interviews we establish the needs of the student. Then the identified student is motivated to go back to school. In some cases she is still in school, then we encourage her to work hard. In most cases there is high absenteeism among these girls.
The identified students will be provided with needs of a student which include: complete school uniform, school bag, writing materials, sanitary materials, a bag of maize and 3 packets of sugar.

Cape Maclear is one of the areas in Malawi which has young girls leaving school at elementary stage. Many of the families here are poor and often the family provider has no money for school uniforms or supplies. Instead they let the girls stay at home so they can work and earn money for the family instead of going to school.

If you educate a man you educate an individual but if you educate a girl you educate a nation.
This well known African proverb has long been motivating people to strive for education for all. Although people have been fighting for girls’ education still there are gaps which need to be filled for girls’ education.
The H7 project is aiming at bringing back to school young girls who left school because of poverty at early stage. The project site is Cape Maclear in Malawi. This is a fishing village is situated on the shores of lake Malawi and is home to around 16,000 people.
