As a way of encouraging and promoting education in the country, Dedza Secondary School alumni on Saturday awarded students who performed well in the just-ended MSCE examinations.

Two students, Bosco Eliya and Chimwemwe Mike Suman, received K500,000 each after scoring 8 points in the examinations. Students who scored 9 points received K350,000 each, while those who scored 10 points were awarded K250,000 each.

Speaking after receiving the award, Chimwemwe Mike Suman appreciated the efforts by teachers and fellow students, and encouraged continuing students to work hard in order to keep the school on the map through good academic performance.

Headteacher of the school, Ramzy Sitifano, said hard work and commitment by both teachers and students have contributed to the school’s good performance in examinations and he added that the school will continue working hard to produce good results.

Speaking during the ceremony, the school’s alumni president, Hazwell Solomon, said the alumni association will continue supporting the school to help it continue performing well academically.
