Have you been looking for an opportunity to pay forward the generosity you have received in your life? Here is a chance for you. Support Ruth today.
Ruth is a 16 year old girl from Salima, Malawi. She is a second born in a family of 5 children. She managed to pass her primary school national examinations despite odds being against her. Her age mates in the neighborhood have all dropped out, some are already teen moms with no financial support.
She went off school for two terms because she couldn't see the future if she continued. After being convinced that she can be better despite the history of girls in the area, she went ahead and returned to school. With hard work and new hope, she passed the national examinations.
Then, school fees became a problem. Her parents told her they will not manage to pay for her secondary school. She decided to quit school for good.
Its been one and half terms since her friends started Form One in Secondary School. When we met her and heard her story, we decided to reach out for anyone who would like to help Ruth get back to school.
We are raising:
$65 to pay for the first three terms
$30 for chickens**
Donations are being collected using CashApp:
$chuxbands (Isaac Chikuse)
**(It would cost $260 to pay for all her secondary school ignoring inflation but we would like to start a continuous flow of cash for her so she can even have money for her tertiary education without needing donors. That is why chickens are being bought to be multiplied and sold at different times by her family.)

Hello Hello, how have you entered 2024? Any New Years` resolutions?
As for us, we are redefining the organisation. We went underground for a while figuring out how to serve better. What has happened ever since?
Rise Academy Primary School has been closed as an independent institution.
Our scholarship students have been relocated into a local primary school but have been receiving private tutoring paid for by this organisation.
Now and the Future
We are now targeting students in community secondary schools who are at the verge of dropping out if not helped financially.
The beneficiaries still in primary school will be receiving some help in terms of writing materials as well as tutoring if still needed until they reach secondary school where their fees will be covered.
Our Name has changed from Rise Academy Primary School to Rise Foundation Malawi.
More details to come.
Wishing you a good year!

A few months ago, Rise Academy was at the verge of closing due to financial difficulties. People came in to help with donations. The donations have helped in keeping the project alive.
THANK YOU to everyone who donated. We cannot say thank you enough but that God bless you with more
With the donations; teachers are being paid. Each student received 10 exercise books and 2 pens.
For students struggling a lot, we have arranged one-on-one tutoring to help them catch up with
their friends.
The future looks great for most students.
THANK YOU

It's been a long time before an update here. But things have been going well at Rise Academy. Wait to hear the stories in the coming posts.

We started Rise Academy in September last year with the aim of bringing quality education to Chinkhoma area to children who could not afford to pay for a private school.
As of now, we have 57 students; 20 students are on full scholarship while the rest are on partial scholarship depending on financial need. This is all possible with the help of sponsors who are continuously paying for students as well as teachers who share the same passion for teaching.
The school started with zero dollars to its name, a passion and one teacher. When a few people were approached, they offered to become sponsors and helped the school pay its rent, recruit more teachers and buy school supplies. Passion was not enough to fuel the dream, so we appreciate the financial help of all our sponsors.
We are proud of our teachers who have given it their best to keep the school going in this difficult time of the pandemic. Recently, Malawian schools were closed for 5 weeks to contain the virus. But our teachers found ways to keep in contact with the students, delivering content and homework! Soon after the lockdown was lifted, public school teachers went on strike requesting pandemic allowances. While at Rise Academy, classes resumed to normal.
Not to mention that, they have sacrificed their afternoon time to offer extra lessons to these students. Since most of them came from public schools, they are way behind in reading and writing. The extra lessons are aimed to offer the help so they can catch up.
We are continuously in need of sponsors to enroll more students from from disadvantaged homes. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please reach out to:

On 17th this week, the government ordered all schools to be closed for three weeks due to increased cases of Covid-19. Students as well as teachers are not happy with this move for it takes out three weeks out of an already short term.
We are now working on offering online lessons to these students to keep them engaged.
If you have any suggestions and recommendations, please do not hesitate to comment below or send us a direct message!
We will keep you updated on the progress.
Thank you for sponsoring these children! If you are not a sponsor yet and would like to be one, feel free to contact us.
A blessed day to everyone.

Our daily schedule runs from 6:30 am to 1:55pm. But these students come back around 3pm to do some extra homework and get help from friends and teachers, willingly. They are hungry to learn!
