St. John Girl's SCOM Charity Visit St. Mary’s Community Hospital
We are delighted to share that on Saturday, 11th October 2025, the St. John Girls’ Secondary School SCOM members successfully conducted a charity outreach visit to St. Mary’s Community Hospital.
We were warmly welcomed by the Hospital Administrator, Mr. Luciano Nkhwali, and other members of staff. During the visit, our students reached out to 22 women with the following donations:
1. Four tablets of soap each
2. Packets of sugar
3. Packets of salt
Additionally, the club donated four units of toilet paper to the hospital for general use within their facility.
Our students also took part in cleaning activities — scrubbing windows and sweeping the hospital premises — as part of their service to the community.
In appreciation, the mothers who received the donations expressed heartfelt gratitude and encouraged our students to continue engaging in charitable works.
We extend our sincere thanks to our Director for the support and permission to carry out this noble cause, and to our dedicated patrons Ms. Tadala Mateyu and Mr. Mathews Kaduya for their guidance and leadership.
“Serving God through serving others.”

Don’t Throw Your Books Away — School Will Always Be There
As Term 3 has come to an end, our classrooms are now quiet, the chalkboards are clean, and every student—Form 1s, 2s, 3s, and even Form 4s—has gone home for a well-deserved break.
For Form 4s, this marks the end of their secondary school journey. They now wait for MANEB results and the exciting step of applying to public universities. Form 2s have already earned their promotion to Form 3, and we expect the same progress for Forms 1 and 3 based on their performance.
But as the holiday stretches ahead for nearly two months, let us share a word of advice for all of you: Don’t throw your books away. Don't pack them into boxes to gather dust. Don’t give them away as if school has ended forever—because it hasn’t.
No matter where you go, school will always be there. Learning doesn’t end with a term or even after writing exams. This long holiday is a perfect time to relax, help at home, and recharge—but also to keep your mind sharp. Even reading just a few pages a week, revising your notes, or discussing a school topic with friends can make a big difference.
For our Form 4s, university is just around the corner. You’ll need those notebooks and concepts again soon. For our Form 1s, 2s, and 3s—next year is coming quickly. The next class will come with new challenges, and what you learned this year will be the foundation for what’s ahead.
So keep your books safe. Open them once in a while. Your future self will thank you.
Enjoy your holiday—but carry your learning with you wherever you go.

End of Term 3 Examinations in Progress
The third term of the 2024/2025 academic year is gradually winding up at St. John Girls’ Secondary School, and students are currently engaged in their end-of-term examinations which commenced on Monday, 15th July.
The atmosphere around the school has been a blend of focus and determination, as students from different classes sit for their final assessments. Today, Form 1 students are writing their Mathematics paper, while Form 3 students are undertaking their Agriculture practicals. The examinations are progressing smoothly and are scheduled to conclude on Friday, 25th July. Students will then officially depart for their Term 3 holidays on Saturday, 26th July, beginning a well-deserved month-long break.
Form 4 students, who recently sat for their Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations, completed most of their papers by Friday last week. However, a few of the selective candidates—particularly those taking Computer Studies—finished their final papers yesterday on Monday, 21st July. Some of these students have already started leaving campus for their holidays.
As for the Form 2 students, they are already on holiday, having completed their Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examinations earlier this term. Their early break follows months of dedicated preparation and hard work, culminating in a successful sitting of the national exams.
As always, the school administration commends all learners for their discipline and commitment throughout the term and wishes them a safe and restful holiday break.
