We are fundraising for our scholarship program.
Nelson Mandela, once said ‘Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice’
Small gestures have the ability to lift up someone and make a difference in a child’s future!
Please assist us with your financial contributions towards this noble cause!

We support talented, intelligent and adept children from families with limited financial resources arising from difficult circumstances and who are attending poorly equipped rural primary schools to pursue their secondary education by working with them to reach their potential.
To be considered for the scholarship, the applicant must have received admission from one of the three community day secondary schools that we are supporting, have maintained outstanding academic achievement (a minimum average of B+ or higher) and be from financially challenged family.
Our emphasis in this application is a captivating personal story, explaining what impact this scholarship will have on your education.

Tomorrow is going to be a new era for the three rural secondary schools in Usisya (Bunga, Usisya and Khondowe). Multichoice Malawi in partnership with Mulika Foundation are launching digital learning equipment to these schools. This will be a new learning experience for over 1,000 beneficiary students.
Our sincere gratitude to Honorable Mganda Chiume, MP for Nkhata Bay North Constituency for accepting to grace this special occasion.
Tawonga, the Mentorship Program Coordinator will be delivering a speech on behalf of Mr. Kausipa Mkandawire, Founder and Executive Director of Mulika Foundation. Tekiyala, a student at one of the three schools and a scholar under Mulika Foundation, will be speaking on behalf of the students.
Through this partnership, we have provided digital learning equipment for the students and the school but what we can’t provide is the desire and thirst for knowledge. This difficult part starts with students and it starts tomorrow.
Tekiyala in his written speech says and I quote ‘it is education and knowledge that raises a nation to the pinnacles of progress and greatness’. We, as lucky kids and future leaders are determined to make this happen’.

We have added over 3,000 e-books and short stories to Mulika Foundation Reading Den. My daughter was excited and this is what she had to say poetically to inspire her fellow young ones…enjoy the reading…
By Shalom Abigail, 14.
Young ones
Short, small, tall, lean
Packed with creativity
You inspire me
You learn
to read, to write
To talk, to walk
You astound me
You learn
Something new and something old
That carries you through long days untold
Waiting for you
And you only
To do something
That'll help us all
These e-books,
Invite an adventure
Like all books
Allows you to venture
You are the future
You don't realize so
But motivate each other
And you'll motivate all

Mulika Inspire Awards (MIA)
The Mulika Inspire Awards are excellence awards for teachers, students and schools in rural areas. In Mulika we recognize that obstacles faced by rural kids; such as lack of school facilities, and the shortage of qualified teachers, significantly impede the quality of education. However, despite these obstacles, great efforts and extra work by these teachers and the commitment of respective students have often produced superb results. Such success can be attributed to remarkable school leadership and skilled, talented and dedicated teachers. The MIA acknowledges the extraordinary efforts made by these unsung heroes who go beyond their call of duty, often in very difficult conditions to motivate and inspire their scholars to perform well and rise above their poverty stricken background. Their efforts are a life time service to our rural children.
The Foundation’s aim is for every child to excel. MIA is designed to promote excellence in students by recognizing individual student performance, teacher’s performance and dedication, creativity and innovation in the schooling environment and approaches, thus encourage best practice in schools. The awards afford communities an opportunity to publicly recognize and say thank you to all outstanding schools, teachers, and students. The Inspire Awards recognize schools, teachers and students in specific areas and subjects.
