ALOR SETAR, 3 June 2026 – The Student Clubs & Associations Refresher Workshop (CARe) 2026 was successfully conducted at the Auditorium, Albukhary International University (AIU) on 24 May 2026, bringing together student leaders, high committee members, and Student Representative Council (SRC) representatives from various clubs and associations.

Organised by the Centre for Student Affairs and Alumni (CSAA), the workshop aimed to strengthen leadership, organisational management, and event coordination skills while enhancing participants’ understanding of professional communication, teamwork, programme planning, and organisational responsibilities.

Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in interactive sessions covering leadership and team management, organisational ethics, pre-event preparation, event ex*****on, post-event reporting, and best practices in programme management. Group discussions and collaborative activities also encouraged networking and knowledge sharing among student leaders from different organisations.

Aligned with AIU’s 3ZERO Goals, 5A Core Values, and 8-Hour Rule, the workshop emphasised professionalism, accountability, ethical leadership, and holistic student development. Participants demonstrated strong engagement throughout the programme, reflecting their commitment to delivering impactful student-led initiatives.

CARe 2026 reflects AIU’s continuous commitment to nurturing competent, proactive, and socially responsible student leaders who contribute positively to both the university and the wider community.

ALOR SETAR, 3 JUNE 2026 – Albukhary International University (AIU) hosted a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Talk titled “Muslims and Global Justice: Faith, Responsibility, and the Pursuit of Equity for All Creation” on 21 May 2026 at the AIU Auditorium.

The programme featured Prof. Dr. Syed Muhd. Khairudin Aljunied and was officiated by Professor Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh Bin Jaafar, Vice-Chancellor and President of AIU. The session was attended by university management, staff, and students.

During the talk, Prof. Dr. Khairudin highlighted the importance of justice, responsibility, and compassion in addressing contemporary social and humanitarian challenges. A key highlight was the sharing of “The Staircase of Action”, a framework encouraging individuals to create meaningful impact through personal growth, community involvement, digital engagement, and professional contribution.

The programme continued with the “Beyond Aid: Youth, Innovation & Impact” forum featuring Mr. Ahmad Fahmi Mohd Samsudin, President of ABIM; Mr. Ahmad Fawwaz Ahmad Shukri, Secretary-General of ABIM and Chief Strategic Officer of Adab Youth Garage (AYG); Mr. Hilmy Gozan, CEO of Ventura Singapore; and Mr. Hafiz Othman, Executive Director of Emaan Catalyst Community (ECC).

The discussions highlighted youth empowerment, humanitarian action, innovation, and sustainable community impact, reflecting AIU’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible and globally conscious future leaders.

ALOR SETAR, 3 June 2026 – On 24 May 2026, four international students from the Bachelor of Media and Communication (BMC) programme at Albukhary International University (AIU) conducted a field study and courtesy visit to Pusat Transit As-Syahadah Bersaudara (PTSB), Kodiang, as part of the School of Education and Human Sciences’ commitment to experiential learning and community engagement.

Accompanied by their lecturer, the students were welcomed by Puan Dewi Rosnah binti Radin Suhadi, representing PTSB. The visit provided valuable exposure to community-based communication, public relations practices, transit facility management, and socio-economic empowerment initiatives for muallaf communities.

Students observed how PTSB supports its residents through sustainable projects such as poultry farming and hydroponic farming, while gaining firsthand insights into stakeholder engagement and community welfare programmes.

According to Encik Mohamad Nor Hisyam bin Musa, Head of the BMC Programme, the field visit offered students meaningful opportunities to understand development communication and the role of media in supporting community empowerment.

The initiative reflects AIU’s commitment to producing socially conscious graduates while strengthening potential collaborations between the university and community-based organisations.

ALOR SETAR, 26 MAY 2026 – The Arab Students Association (ARSA) at Albukhary International University (AIU), in collaboration with the Palestinian Students Association, successfully organized “NEXT IS YOU: 78 Years Since the Nakba,” a humanitarian and awareness programme. The programme was held on 16 May 2026 at the university auditorium in commemoration of the 78th anniversary of the Nakba.

The programme aimed to promote historical awareness, humanitarian reflection, and social consciousness regarding the continuing impact of Palestinian displacement and the ongoing humanitarian situation in Palestine. The initiative also served as a platform to encourage solidarity, cultural understanding, and meaningful engagement within the university community.

The event gathered students, staff members, and invited guests from diverse backgrounds. The programme commenced with Quran recitation and dua, followed by the national anthems of Palestine and Malaysia as a symbol of solidarity and mutual respect.

An opening speech was delivered by the President of ARSA, emphasizing the importance of preserving historical memory, strengthening humanitarian awareness, and encouraging solidarity with communities affected by conflict and displacement. This was followed by a university address delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tengku Shahrom bin Tengku Shahdan, who highlighted the importance of compassion, awareness, and social responsibility in fostering informed and responsible communities within educational institutions.

Among the major highlights of the programme was a two-part theatrical performance portraying the historical and humanitarian dimensions of the Nakba and the suffering experienced across generations of Palestinians. The performances delivered powerful reflections on displacement, resilience, loss, and hope, creating a meaningful atmosphere throughout the event.

The programme also included a remembrance segment dedicated to an AIU alumni from Palestine who lost his life during the ongoing conflict, serving as a moment of reflection on the humanitarian realities and human loss caused by war and violence. In addition, poetry performances in both Arabic and English conveyed themes of identity, memory, endurance, and humanity through artistic expression.

The programme concluded with a closing video presentation and song before attendees proceeded to the awareness and cultural booths prepared outside the auditorium.

Overall, “NEXT IS YOU: 78 Years Since the Nakba” successfully provided a meaningful platform that combined education, culture, humanitarian awareness, and emotional reflection while strengthening solidarity and engagement within the AIU community. The Palestinian Students Association contributed to the programme through collaborative support and coordination efforts, further enriching the significance of the event.
