๐ The 11th National Biology Symposium 2025, It's a wrap! ๐
Thanks to everyone who joined us over the past two days and contributed to a successful and meaningful symposium.
A huge congratulations to all 15 winners (8 poster presentations and 7 oral presentations). Your achievements reflect the high quality and diversity of research showcased this year.
A special thank you to all keynote and plenary speakers, all participants and attendees. Your contributions created the dynamic and engaging atmosphere that shaped this yearโs symposium.
Our deepest appreciation goes to the organising committee, led by Prof. Badrul Munir Md Zain, for their hard work and dedication in making this event possible.
The symposium was officially closed by UKM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Ismanizan Ismail, in the presence of FST Dean, Prof. ChM Dr. Ishak Ahmad, FST Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Salmah Yaakop, and FST Deputy Dean (Postgraduate), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Munir Abdul Murad.
We are also honoured by the attendance of our international guests, Prof. Niu Qiuhong, Dean of the School of Life Sciences, Nanyang Normal University, China, and the delegation.

๐ 11th National Biology Symposium 2025 - Day 2 (Part 2) Highlights ๐
The session continued with impactful and insightful contributions from both industry and academia.
We are pleased to host industrial talks by Matrioux x Servicebio, and FGV Holdings, who shared valuable perspectives on innovation, technology, and industryโresearch collaboration.
A continuation of strong line-ups of oral presentations from students and academics, showcasing their research across biology and biotechnology.
We also had an important and engaging session on biosafety, delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazlina Ibrahim, highlighting best practices and responsibilities in safe biological research.

Here's our final two plenaries! Fantastic work shared by two distinguished professors in different areas. (i) miRNA fingerprinting in cancer patients by Prof Cheah, and (ii) sustainability efforts of our natural heritage which highlighted the role of geoparks by Prof Norhayati.

One of the important parts of the symposium are the oral and poster sessions, featuring a diverse group of presenters - from experienced lecturers and researchers to enthusiastic undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Their work showcased the breadth of biological sciences and biotechnology, covering topics from environmental sustainability to cutting-edge laboratory research. The energy, dedication, and scientific curiosity from all presenters truly enriched the symposium.

Day 2 featured another strong line-up of talks, including the keynote by Datuk Dr. Ahmad Parveez Hj Ghulam Kadir, Director General of MPOB, who spoke on โBiology-Driven Solutions Fueling Oil Palm Sustainabilityโ.
The insights shared highlighted how biological sciences and biotechnology continue to drive practical, sustainable solutions for Malaysia and beyond. A great talk that inspired not only us, academic researchers, but also the industries and young aspiring students!
