Global data centre giant Equinix () is investing nearly RM900 million, equivalent to USD 190 million, to establish its fourth Malaysian data centre in Cyberjaya.

Named KL2, this new facility is designed specifically to support artificial intelligence, cloud platforms, and high density computing. Led by CEO Charles Meyers, the infrastructure expansion strengthens the digital network of the region.

By strategically linking Kuala Lumpur, Johor, and Singapore, Equinix enhances the digital infrastructure of Malaysia. The KL2 facility will accommodate over 2200 cabinets and feature advanced liquid cooling systems for distributed workloads.

This development supports the vision of ASEAN, represented by Secretary General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, in positioning Malaysia as a core digital gateway.

Founded by Baharudin bin Ahmed and Norliza binti Mohd Yunus with five workers and manual operations, the Johor family business now produces up to 1.5 million chickens a month. The enterprise evolved into NB Poultry Processing Industries after constructing its own slaughterhouse, introducing semi-automatic machinery, cold storage facilities, and advanced production capabilities to support large-scale distribution.

Today, the organization employs over 300 workers and operates 30 delivery lorries to distribute fresh chicken across Johor, Melaka, and Kuala Lumpur with a daily processing capacity of 40,000 chickens. Under the leadership of CEO Badrul Hisyam, the founder’s son, the company is modernizing its legacy. The brand continues to expand its footprint across farming, processing, logistics, retail, and digital growth while strictly maintaining its core foundation of halal integrity.
