Our Reception students have been busy discovering the wonderful world of growing things! 🌱🍎🥕 This week, our little learners are exploring how fruits and vegetables grow through hands-on activities, sensory play, and exciting discoveries. From tiny seeds to tasty harvests, there is so much to learn and so much to do!

What a wonderful day in Reception! 🌱📚🎶

Today, our little learners explored the world of gardening, practised writing paragraphs, and shared their thoughts and ideas during discussions with friends. They became young investigators by identifying bugs found in the garden and outdoor areas 🐞🐛.

The adventure continued with a lovely story time in the school library, where imaginations came to life through books. To end the day, everyone enjoyed music and body movement activities, learning through rhythm, dance, and fun! 💃🎵

What does learning look like in our Early Years classrooms? A day filled with imagination, creativity and meaningful play.

Today, our children eagerly collected puppet show tickets from their friends before taking their seats for a delightful puppet performance. The real magic happened afterwards, when they became the stars of the show, creating and performing their very own puppet stories using puppets they brought to life themselves.

The day also included puzzle-solving challenges, colourful art and colouring activities, and plenty of singing with actions and movement — all carefully designed to develop communication, confidence, creativity and problem-solving skills.

At the heart of our Early Years programme is a simple belief: children learn best when they are actively engaged, exploring, creating and having fun.

We’re back after our term break, ready for another season of discovery, creativity and growth!

This term, our Little Sprouts and Early Years learners will be exploring the exciting world of performances. From cinema and storytelling to puppet shows and imaginative role play. Through these experiences, students will build confidence, communication skills and creativity while having tremendous fun along the way.

As for our Reception students, they will embark on a fascinating journey about flowers, greenery and the natural world, developing a deeper appreciation for the environment as they nurture their own growing plants.

At Mighty Oaks, every day is an opportunity to inspire curiosity, encourage exploration and create meaningful learning experiences.

We can’t wait to start our journey!

Our Little Sprouts students explored flavours and nature by making refreshing drinks with lemon, mint, pandan, and leaves 🍋🌱
Early Years worked together brilliantly to solve puzzles through teamwork and communication 🧩
Meanwhile, Reception students practised their measuring skills, learning about capacity 💧

At Mighty Oaks, every activity is designed to build confidence, independence, and a genuine love for learning in a warm and nurturing environment.

As we head into our term break next week, we wish all our families a lovely holiday and restful time together ☀️

Our Reception children had a wonderful time making banana muffins today 🍌🧁✨

From mixing ingredients to baking together, the children learned through hands-on experience and teamwork. To make the day even sweeter, they proudly shared their muffins with other children around the school 💛

At our school, learning is fun, meaningful, and filled with moments children love to remember.

Every day, our Reception Class discovered that superheroes don’t always wear capes… some wear uniforms, carry tools, or simply show up with care and courage 💫

From garbage collectors keeping our world clean 🌍, to nurses and doctors healing with kindness 🏥, to firefighters keeping everyone safe 🚒, and teachers guiding little learners every step of the way 🍎… our children explored the amazing “superpowers” that exist all around them.

They even created heartfelt cards for their own school superheroes, celebrating the kindness, patience, and magic their teachers bring into the classroom each day ✨

A beautiful reminder that real heroes live in our community, and sometimes they are right beside us in school 💛

From washing and peeling to chopping and steaming — our Early Years children became little chefs for the day! 🥕🥦🌱

Using carrots, French beans, broccoli, and spinach, the children worked together to prepare a healthy vegetable salad, which they shared with everyone at school. 💚

This hands-on experience not only helped develop their independence, fine motor skills and teamwork, but also encouraged positive conversations about healthy eating and the importance of vitamins for growing bodies and minds.
