Building Safer Healthcare Environments

We’re proud of our two Occupational Health and Safety students who have started their internship at Windhoek Central Hospital!

On their first day, an induction session was conducted to familiarize them with the hospital environment, policies, procedures, and safety requirements. A presentation on Occupational Health and Safety within a hospital setting was delivered to provide them with an understanding of biological, chemical, physical, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards, as well as the relevant control measures. The induction ensured that the students gained the necessary knowledge and awareness to work safely and effectively throughout their internship placement at the hospital.

This hands-on placement is giving them the knowledge and awareness needed to support safer, healthier workplaces for healthcare workers and patients alike.
