Dagbreek School for the Intellectually Impaired

The Dagbreek Running Team was invited by the National Disability Council of Namibia to
participate in National Disability Week, themed "Inclusive Namibia: Empowering Persons with Disabilities through Innovation, Accessibility and Opportunities for Equal Participation".
The week was about more than just events; it was a powerful celebration of inclusion and the potential of our athletes. We were deeply honored to have the Vice President of the Republic of Namibia, Hon. Lucia Witbooi, present to hand over our awards during the ceremony.
A massive congratulations to our champions:

•Selma Doeses: Best Sportswoman with Disability
•The Dagbreek Running Team: Best Sports Team for Persons with Disabilities
Coach Lydia Matheus was truly humbled to accept the team award on behalf of the 21 athlete runners. Seeing them recognized for their hard work and dedication is what this journey is all about. We have moved intellectual disability out of the shadows and onto the elite stage, proving that disability does not mean inability. This is just the beginning, we are committed to breaking barriers and creating a future where every athlete has the opportunity to thrive!

Dagbreek Resource School hosting today its first running event for Intellectual Disability with participants from fellow institutions Side-by-Side, Moreson-and Eluwa Resource Schools.... and also evenly important members from the public joining us in huge numbers making this event a great success!!!
