Congratulations to the 285 postgraduate students inducted into the University of Abuja Centre for Gender, Security and Youth Advancement for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Among those inducted were the Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, and the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Dr Maryam Ismaila Keshinro, who are pursuing doctoral degrees in Commonwealth Youth Development Studies.
The students were admitted into Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master's and Doctorate programmes in Commonwealth Youth Development Studies, Gender Studies and Social Work.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, in his remarks urged the students to take their oath seriously and avoid all forms of misconduct.

Nnamani Manna Ezechukwu, a law student and member of the University of Abuja Law Clinic, emerged Second Runner-Up in the maiden Inter-University Law Clinic Essay Competition organised to commemorate World Refugee Day 2026.
The competition, themed "Hope Away from Home: The 1951 Refugee Convention v. 21st Century Global Trends," featured participants from five institutions, including the University of Abuja, Nile University, Baze University, the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), and the DAFI Refugee Scholars programme.
Organised by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), the event offered a platform for participants to showcase their skills in legal research, legal drafting and innovative perspectives on refugee protection and related global challenges.
Congratulations to Nnamani Manna Ezechukwu and the University of Abuja Law Clinic team on this success.

Participants in the ongoing aquaculture enterprise training programme at the University of Abuja Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre yesterday, sat for their final examinations as part of the requirements for certification.
Now in its 10th week, the six-month programme continues on Monday, 22 June 2026, at the University fish farm.
The training is being implemented under the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project of the Federal Ministry of Education, with support from the World Bank.

Two boreholes constructed and donated by the Koinonia Global Family at the old male and new female hostels to serve the students of the University of Abuja were commissioned on Friday, 19 June 2026.
The project, undertaken in honour of Apostle Joshua Selman on the occasion of his birthday, is expected to help meet water needs in the male and female hostels and enhance the welfare of students residing on campus.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Rosemary Udeozor, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, at the event, expressed appreciation to the Koinonia Global Family for the gesture and prayed for God's continued blessings upon the donor and the entire University community.
She urged the representatives of the ministry to convey the University's gratitude to Apostle Joshua Selman, noting that the project would remain a lasting testimony to service and generosity.
Speaking on behalf of the donor, Lady Sandra Areh, said the project was inspired by the teachings and example of Apostle Joshua Selman, whose life and ministry have impacted millions of people around the world.
