This new week, let's remember: success is not only about the grades on the report card.
It's about the child who shares their snack without being asked.
The one who says 'sorry' first.
The one who keeps trying even after failing a test.
The one who respects the gateman, the cleaner, the driver — not just the 'big' people.
Character is the foundation. Grades will come.

Gone are the days when 'good grades' alone guaranteed a job. Today's employers (and even Nigerian start-ups) are looking for students who can:
✅ Solve problems with technology
✅ Communicate confidently
✅ Think critically — not just memorize and pour (we all know that one)
✅ Adapt fast when things change
That's why at Glory International School Abuja, we don't just teach for exams — we prepare students for LIFE and the real world out there.

Did you know?
Nigeria has one of the youngest populations in the world — over 60% of Nigerians are under the age of 25!
That means YOU, the students reading this, are not just the future... you ARE Nigeria's present. The decisions, the innovations, the businesses, the leadership — it's already in your hands.
Be part of that change!

New week, new mindset!
They said the economy is hard, things are tough.
But one thing nobody can take from your child is KNOWLEDGE.
Every Monday is a fresh chance to build the future. Whether your child wants to be a doctor, engineer, content creator or the next Dangote — it starts with showing up and putting in the work today.
To our students: oya, let's go!
To our parents: thank you for trusting us with your most precious investment.

We know it's not easy. Between work, traffic, and trying to put food on the table, finding time to help with homework can feel impossible.
Here's one simple thing that helps: instead of asking 'did you finish your homework?' (which usually gets a quick 'yes' ), try asking 'what's one thing you learned today that surprised you?'
It opens up real conversation, and shows your child you're interested not just checking a box.
To all our amazing parents — we see you, and we're in this together.

Every year on June 12th, Nigeria celebrates Democracy Day. But why this date, and why does it matter?
Back in 1993, Nigerians went out to vote in what many still call the freest and fairest election in our history. A man named MKO Abiola was widely believed to have won — but the results were cancelled, and he never got to lead the country. It took years of struggle before Nigeria returned to democratic rule.
In 2018, the government officially moved Democracy Day from May 29th to June 12th, to honour that moment and the people who fought for the right to vote and be heard.
So what does democracy actually mean? Simply put — it means the power belongs to the people. Citizens choose their leaders through voting, leaders are accountable to the people, and everyone has a voice, no matter how small.
For students: this is a good day to think about leadership, fairness, and speaking up the right way whether it's electing a class prefect or having an opinion about your community. Democracy isn't just for adults; it starts with how we treat each other every day.
Happy Democracy Day!

The Importance of Speaking and Pronouncing Properly
Good speaking and clear pronunciation matter a lot in life. Here is why.
First, it builds confidence. When a child can say words correctly, he or she speaks without fear. This helps in class, in public, and later in life. No stammering or shame.
Second, it improves learning. Proper pronunciation helps children read better and understand lessons faster. Teachers can communicate easily with them. This leads to stronger English and better overall performance.
Third, it opens doors. Many jobs, interviews, and opportunities in Nigeria and abroad require clear speech. People judge you first by how you talk. Clear pronunciation makes others listen and respect you more.
Fourth, it prevents misunderstanding. Wrong pronunciation can change meaning. "Ship" and "Sheep" sound different but many children mix them. Good training stops this early.
Fifth, it supports future success. From nursery to university, children who speak well participate more in debates, presentations, and leadership roles. They become bold and ready for the world.
At Glory Int'l School Karu, we teach phonics and pronunciation from the beginning. That is why our pupils are confident and clear when they speak. This is one foundation that lasts for life.
Parents, watch your child grow in this area. It is not just about passing exams. It is about preparing them to stand and speak anywhere.

Today’s Colour Day was bright and beautiful as our pupils appeared in lovely white T-shirts on blue jeans.
White represents cleanliness, peace, purity, innocence, simplicity, and new beginnings. It reminds us of calmness, honesty, and the beauty of a clean heart and mind.
The pupils looked smart, confident, and full of life as they participated in the day’s activities with joy and excitement.
Learning through colours helps children understand meaning, expression, and creativity in a fun way.

Today’s Colour Day was all about Purple — a colour that represents power, royalty, nobility, elegance, creativity, and luxury.
Dressed in beautiful purple outfits, our pupils proudly showcased confidence, class, and creativity. From purple T-shirts to stylish combinations with black and blue jeans, the atmosphere was bright, lively, and full of excitement.
Beyond the fashion and fun, Colour Day helps children learn the meaning and importance of colours, how they influence emotions, culture, and expression.
Activities like this also encourage confidence, participation, social interaction, and creativity among learners.
At our school, learning is made fun, practical, and memorable.
