Last Sunday’s book review was one of a kind.

The Asaba Literacy & Reading Club gathered readers, writers, students, academics, and lovers of literature for an engaging review of We Won’t Fade Into Darkness by acclaimed Nigerian author T.J. Benson.

More than a book review, it was a deep and thought-provoking conversation about climate change, memory, technology, and the future of Nigeria. The discussions challenged us to think about the stories we tell ourselves and the role literature plays in helping us navigate a rapidly changing world.

What made the experience even more special was having T.J. Benson join us live, sharing insights into the book and engaging directly with readers.

Moments like these remind us that books do more than tell stories they spark conversations, broaden perspectives, and connect communities.

πŸ“–πŸ’‘ Here’s to reading, learning, and imagining better futures together.

A NEW CHAPTER IN OUR LITERACY MOVEMENT

In July 2018, the Asaba Literacy & Reading Club was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that communities are transformed when people read, think critically, and engage meaningfully with ideas.

What began as a single reading circle in Asaba has grown into a nationally registered social impact organization with a track record of promoting literacy, intellectual engagement, leadership development, and community learning.

Over the years, our journey has been marked by strategic partnerships, school-based interventions, government collaborations, public literary engagements, and research contributions that continue to demonstrate the power of reading as a tool for personal and societal transformation.

Today, we are proud to announce the launch of the Uyo Literacy & Reading Club in Akwa Ibom State.

This is more than the establishment of a new club.

It is the expansion of a proven literacy model.

It is the extension of a vision that seeks to build stronger readers, deeper thinkers, more informed citizens, and future leaders.

The Uyo Literacy & Reading Club will serve as a platform for book reviews, reading circles, literary conversations, leadership development, intellectual exchange, and lifelong learning.

As we celebrate this milestone, we acknowledge every member, volunteer, educator, institution, partner, and supporter whose contributions have made this growth possible.

From Asaba to Uyo, the mission remains unchanged:

Building Readers.
Developing Leaders.
Transforming Communities.

Welcome to the Uyo Literacy & Reading Club.

FROM ONE CITY TO ANOTHER.

In 2018, we started with a reading circle.

Today, that vision has crossed state boundaries.

We are proud to announce the launch of the Uyo Literacy & Reading Club - a new community of readers, thinkers, leaders, and lifelong learners in Akwa Ibom State.

This moment is not simply about opening a new club.

It is proof that ideas grow.
It is proof that literacy creates impact.
It is proof that a small beginning can become a movement.

From Asaba to Uyo, we remain committed to building a culture where reading is celebrated, learning is valued, and leadership is nurtured.

πŸ“š Building Readers.
🎯 Developing Leaders.
🌍 Transforming Communities.

Welcome to the Uyo Literacy & Reading Club.
