Some penguin species give a special pebble to a mate as part of their courtship. If the pebble is accepted, they may build a nest together.

Did you know?

Elephants are the largest land animals on Earth, but they cannot jump because of their heavy bodies and the structure of their legs.

❓Question: Have you ever seen an elephant in real life? What other unique feature do you know about elephants?

🐙 ANIMAL FACT #2: Octopuses Have Three Hearts

Did you know?

An octopus has three hearts! Two hearts pump blood to its gills, while the third pumps blood to the rest of its body.

Even more amazing, its blood is blue!

Giraffes Have the Same Number of Neck Bones as Humans!

Did you know?

A giraffe's neck can be over 6 feet (1.8 meters) long, yet it has only 7 neck bones. The same number as humans!

The difference is that each bone is much longer than ours.

Lesson: Size does not always determine quantity.
