Asalam Aleikun!!! Good morning, everyone!

I would like to share something small but meaningful that recently caught my attention. My son pointed out that Haribo gummy bears, which many children enjoy as candies and often distributed in party packs for children contain pork-derived gelatin as one of the main ingredients responsible for their chewy texture.

As parents, we are often mindful of what we eat as a family, but this experience reminded me of the importance of paying attention to the little details as well. After learning more through Islamic studies about the significance of avoiding pork in Islam, I was both surprised and proud. Not only did my son discover the presence of pork gelatin in these gummies, but he has also become very conscious about ensuring that what he consumes is halal.

Moments like these show that our children are listening, learning, and applying the values we teach them. It was a beautiful reminder that education at home and within our communities can have a lasting impact on our children’s choices and character.

A heartfelt thank you to Al Wadudu Institute most especially Utaz @⁨Ustadh Waliy⁩ for their valuable teachings and for helping nurture this awareness in our young ones. May we continue to guide our children with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.
