AFIT ADVOCATES FOR SELF RELIANCE IN DEFENCE PRODUCTION

The Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Kolade Ademuwagun, on Monday 11 May, 2026, has emphasized the critical need for indigenous industrial reliance in defence production, alongside sustainable investment in capacity building within the sector. He highlighted that strengthening local capabilities in research, innovation, and manufacturing is essential for enhancing national security, reducing dependence on foreign technologies, and fostering sustainable development in Africa’s defence architecture.

AVM AK Ademuwagun, made this assertion while receiving participants of the Senior Course 47 from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), who paid a strategic study tour visit to the institute.
