THE RESCUE OF THE SISTER OF THE FORMER MINISTER AND HER TWO CHILDREN

I have a few concerns, though:

1. These people were recently k1dnapped. Why did the police unusually sweep into action to rescue them, whereas the Oyo schoolchildren are still being held hostage in the bush after three weeks, with nothing tangible being done about their situation? Is it because these victims are relatives of a former minister?

2. A critical look at the k1dnappers, as seen in this video, raises a question: Are kidnappings in Nigeria being carried out by a broader network of criminals than is commonly assumed? Could people from various ethnic backgrounds be involved in this cr1m1nal enterprise?

3. If these victims could be rescued within barely three or four days of being k1dnapped, then what has been the problem all along? Why has the government created the impression that it is powerless in such situations - from the Chibok girls' case to the recent Oyo incident? Why?
