The Management, Staff, and Students of SPED International Secondary School, Oyo, heartily congratulate an exceptional administrator, seasoned educationist, disciplined leader, and spiritual father, Mr. Ayinde Abdul Wasiu Adekunle, on his well-deserved appointment as the Vice Principal, Special Duties of the school.

This elevation by the management team following the retirement of the former Vice Principal, Special Duties, is a testament to his years of dedication, loyalty, competence, and selfless service to the growth and development of the institution.

Born on the 1st of November close to six decades ago, Mr. Ayinde has continued to distinguish himself as a man of excellence and integrity. A graduate of Agricultural Extension and Management, with additional postgraduate qualifications in Education, Agricultural Extension, and Rural Sociology, his academic and professional journey reflects his passion for learning and service.

Since joining the services of SPED International Secondary School in 1998 as a Youth Corps member and subsequently being retained as a staff member in January 1999, he has served the school meritoriously in various capacities including:
• Head of School (SS2)
• Head of School (SS3)
• Member, School Disciplinary Committee
• Chairman, Internal Quality Assurance and Control (IQAC)
• Head of Department, Vocational Studies

For over two decades, he has also served faithfully as the Chief Imam of the school, providing spiritual guidance, moral direction, and fatherly counsel to both staff and students.

Indeed, his appointment is not merely a promotion, but a recognition of decades of unwavering commitment, exemplary leadership, diligence, humility, and immense contributions to the advancement of SPED International Secondary School, Oyo.

We pray that Almighty Allah grants him greater wisdom, strength, sound health, and abundant grace as he assumes this new office and continues to contribute meaningfully to the progress of the school.

In line with his passion for encouraging academic excellence and rewarding diligence, our amiable Principal, Mr. Ogundele, has introduced a new initiative aimed at recognising and appreciating outstanding students every term.

Unlike the usual tradition of celebrating academic excellence only at the end of the session, this initiative ensures that hardworking and exceptional students receive timely recognition and motivation for their efforts.

Today during the morning assembly, the first set of outstanding students from second term were specially honoured and presented with prizes by the Principal. The moment was made even more memorable as the award recipients also had photo sessions with the Principal in celebration of their achievements.

This initiative is not only a reward system, but also a strong source of motivation to inspire all students towards greater commitment, discipline, and academic excellence.

The 2026 NECO (BECE) Examination has officially commenced, and our students have kicked off with the Business Studies Practical at our fully equipped ICT Centre.
