Do have an INSPIRED rest of the week with the families.

A teacher was beheaded.
Kidnappers raided a school, packed the principal, the staff, and the students into vehicles and drove them into the bush.
Children as young as two years old.

A teacher who went to work that morning to teach was behea*ed. And that behea*ing was recorded. And posted online.

We have spent this week talking about safeguarding. About shelves that fall. About words that wound. About adults who betray children's trust.

But what do you call it when both teachers and students are not sure of safety in the school?

What is safeguarding when the threat is not inside the building but coming through the fence with weapons?

What is child protection when the government that is supposed to guarantee the safety of every citizen in this country is watching?

A teacher is dead.
Children are in a bush somewhere in Nigeria. Some of them are two years old. They do not understand where they are. They are asking for their mothers.
And we are here. Posting. Scrolling. Continuing.

I do not have a solution to write at the end of this post.

What I have is grief. And anger. And the belief that silence from the rest of us is its own kind of failure.

These children deserve a country that fights for them the way they deserved a school that was safe.
