New Framework Links Green Energy Jobs and Sustainable Employment in Amsterdam Zuidoost 18/06/2026

A new study published in Emerald Publishing’s Journal of Enterprising Communities: People and Places in the Global Economy explores how green job training can support sustainable employment in Amsterdam Zuidoost.

Authored by Amy Abdou, Isaac Adu Acheampong, Peter van der Sijde and Siavash Mirsadeghi, the research compares private, community and non-profit initiatives shaping energy transition in the district.

The study finds that private sector programmes offer strong career pathways but are often less accessible to job seekers in Amsterdam Zuidoost, while community and non-profit organisations play a key role in improving access and local inclusion.

The research calls for stronger coordination between government, employers and training providers in Amsterdam Zuidoost, alongside a combined SCBA–SROI framework to better measure social and environmental impact.
