This week we took the train and the T-bane into Oslo for an exciting visit to the Natural History Museum. The children were fantastic travellers, and it was a great opportunity to practise using public transport while exploring and learning about the natural world.
The museum inspired lots of curiosity, questions, and discoveries, and the students had a wonderful time investigating the exhibits together.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the trip such a success. 😊

Grade 3 has been learning about how animals adapt to their environment for survival. Students had fun trying out different animal adaptations for themselves. This activity sparked thinking about the form and function of different body parts in helping animals to survive.

This morning, we celebrated Love is Love House Day by embracing one of our core school values: Strengthened by Diversity. 🌈
At our school, we believe that every individual brings unique strengths, perspectives, and experiences that make our community stronger. The morning provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate inclusion, kindness, and the importance of respecting and valuing one another.
Students put their ATL skills into action as they collaborated, communicated, and worked together through a variety of fun team-building sports activities. From cheering each other on to tackling challenges as a house team, the morning was filled with positive energy, connection, and shared success. A highlight was without a doubt the teacher running relay!
Together, we celebrated what makes each of us unique and the power of belonging in a community where everyone is valued.

Over the years, they have grown academically, built lasting friendships, faced challenges with determination, and created memories that will stay with them for years to come.
We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and excited to see all the opportunities that await them in the future.
Congratulations, Grade 10!
You will always be an important part of the AIS community. 💙

As part of our Sharing the Planet unit, Grade 4 students designed and created their own sock puppets. Then, they put on puppet shows for the Grade 1 students. Through creative and engaging stories, students demonstrated different conflict resolution strategies. This helped bring our Central Idea "The process of resolving conflict makes demands on everyone involved" to life. It was wonderful to see our students using their communication, creativity, and teamwork skills to teach an important message in such a fun way!

Year 7 at AIS spent Wednesday morning removing some lawn in front of the building in the hopes of establishing a meadow for local pollinators and birds.
Year 7 were guided in building and educated about the advantages of a native meadow by Kunt and Erik from Naturvernforbundet. Establishing this meadow is a project during Year 7's final unit, Ecology. We hope that by establishing this meadow, we will not only help local wildlife but also have a natural landscape we can study from Year 1 through the MYP.

Grade 5 have been continuing their scientific inquiry using microscopes. Previously, they have visited a local lake to find samples, in order to investigate their individual hypotheses about what life they will find in different habitats. Students are now training themselves in their use of microscopes ready to test out the predictions they have made. The excitement is building!
