Train Smarter. Think Faster.

18/06/2026

Every coach has the same 24 hours.

Every player has the same 24 hours.

So why do some players improve rapidly while others stay exactly the same for years?

The difference is rarely effort.

It’s usually the quality of the information, feedback and training environment.

A coach shouldn’t just make you tired.

A coach should make you better.

If you’re doing the same things month after month with no clear progress, it might be time to ask some uncomfortable questions.

One of the biggest reasons players stay stuck is because they’re more interested in protecting their reputation than improving their game.

The moment training gets uncomfortable, their ego gets involved.

They avoid weaknesses.
Avoid mistakes.
Avoid situations that expose them.

But development only happens when you’re willing to look bad before you get better.

The players who improve the fastest aren’t obsessed with proving they’re good.

They’re obsessed with finding what still needs work.

A lot of players quit too early.

Not because the skill doesn’t work.

Because they expect game speed results after a few good training sessions.

Learning is a process.

Understanding something and owning it are two completely different things.

The players who improve fastest are usually the ones who stay patient long enough for the skill to survive pressure, chaos and real match situations.

If it disappears on match day, the learning process isn’t finished yet.

👇 Be honest: what stage is your scanning at right now?

The eye test exists for a reason.

Even before stats, your brain already forms an opinion on a player based on:
• movement quality
• rhythm
• fluidity
• body control

That’s why some players instantly LOOK elite even before they do anything crazy.

At lower levels especially, the eye test will always matter because coaches and scouts are still humans.
And humans react emotionally to movement before they analyze logically.

Football is not only effectiveness.
It’s perception too.

Most wingers focus too much on beating the defender.

Elite wingers focus on WHERE they arrive after beating him.

Watch Arjen Robben carefully.

He wasn’t just “cutting inside.”

He was constantly targeting the D zone around the box because from there:
• shots open
• through balls open
• far post opens
• chaos starts

That area gives you control over the entire attack.

Good wingers dribble.
Elite wingers arrive in dangerous zones on purpose.

I’ve seen how agents actually watch games.

Most players think they have 90 minutes to prove themselves.
You don’t.

Sometimes an agent decides in 10–20 minutes if you’re worth watching longer.

Your:
• body language
• scanning
• intensity
• reactions
• confidence

gets judged before stats ever do.

And if you don’t stand out early?
Their eyes move to the next player.

Football is brutal like that.

The best players I’ve met all had one thing in common:

they invested into learning.

Not just money.
Attention.
Discipline.
Application.

Most people ask for advice.
Very few actually use it.

That’s why the gap keeps growing.

Footwork is not just “fast feet.”

It affects:

* balance
* reactions
* coordination
* body control
* how quickly you can adjust under pressure

A player with good footwork moves more efficiently, reacts faster and wastes less energy on the pitch.

That’s why even simple footwork drills can improve the way you move in real game situations.

But remember:
footwork should support football actions, not become a TikTok dance routine 😭

Not every body is built for the same style of football.

Some players are built to:

* rotate quickly
* manipulate tight spaces
* change direction constantly

Others are built to:

* cover ground
* attack space
* dominate physically through running power

The problem?

Too many players try to copy footballers with completely different body types and natural strengths.

That wastes years of development.

You should understand:

* what your body allows naturally
* what movements suit you
* what role fits your profile best

Football development becomes much easier when you stop forcing someone else’s identity onto yourself.

I used to do exercises like this all the time.

Hundreds of reps.
Sweating.
Feeling productive.

And then I wondered why I was still stuck at amateur level.

The truth?

I was training hard… but not intelligently.

Everything changed when I started learning from the right mentors and finally understood:

* what actually transfers to games
* how to train decision making
* how to train with pressure and purpose

That’s when my level really started going up.

Sometimes I genuinely think:
if I understood proper training earlier, I would’ve reached the professional level much sooner.

Hard work matters.
But direction matters too.
