Research suggests that swimming provides rich vestibular, proprioceptive, and tactile sensory input while promoting coordination, motor planning, balance, and self-regulation in autistic children. Although evidence directly linking swimming to primitive reflex integration is limited, the movement patterns and postural demands of swimming support the development of more mature motor control and sensory processing.

We know our parents are busy working hard and juggling the demands of life. Don’t worry we’ll take the children out to enjoy the simple joy of natural, unstructured play. Sometimes, the most meaningful learning happens when children are simply allowed to be children. 🌿

Reflex integration focuses on addressing retained primitive reflexes that may impact sensory processing, motor development, attention, and self-regulation. As part of a comprehensive therapeutic approach, reflex integration can support neurological maturation and improve a child’s functional participation across home, school, and community environments.

Many autistic children may find tooth brushing difficult due to sensory sensitivities. Use a soft toothbrush, visual cues, modeling, and a consistent routine. Start slowly, praise small successes, and gradually build tolerance and independence. 🦷🪥
