CMR Nepal - Journalism Academy

Congratulations to all participants! 🌍📊🔎✍️

We successfully completed the 8-week Data Journalism and Fact-Checking for Climate Reporting 2026 course at the CMR Nepal Journalism Academy.

Supported by UNESCO’s Global Initiative for Information Integrity on Climate Change ( ), the blended-learning program combined six weeks of online learning with two weeks of intensive in-person training.

Throughout the course, journalists developed skills in freedom of information requests, advanced online research, web scraping, data cleaning and analysis, data visualization, data-driven storytelling, fact-checking, digital verification, and evidence-based climate reporting.

We thank all participants for their dedication and look forward to seeing impactful climate stories emerge from this learning journey. We also thank our wonderful facilitators!

We launched "डिजिटल युगमा पत्रकारिता" - Nepali translation of popular German textbook "Journalimus: Das Lehr - und Handbuch" by Stephan Russ-Mohl & Tanjev Schulz.

Members of our advisory committee Mr. Prateek Pradhan, Ms. Upasana Ghimire, Federation of Nepali Journalists President Ms. Nirmala Sharma & Center for Media Research - Nepal chair Navin Khatiwada unveiled the book in presence of 36+ journalists and media personalities (and virtual presence of author Russ-Mohl & Interlink Academy).
