A beautiful acrylic portrait of a girl with Nepal's Living Goddess Kumari attire, painted on canvas by our student Saurab. This work reflects his growing confidence in portrait painting, careful attention to detail, and appreciation for Nepal's rich cultural heritage.
At The Drawing Room, we believe that with regular practice, guidance, and perseverance, every student can develop their own artistic voice.
Well done, Saurab! Keep painting, learning, and growing.

A new addition to our mini library: "Naso", a zine by Prakash Ranjit. We're delighted to include this thoughtful publication in our collection. The original work is currently on view at the Kathmandu Art Biennale. We are excited to make it available for our students and visitors to read, explore, and be inspired by.

Work in progress...
Layer by layer, colour by colour, the deities are slowly coming to life. Watching each painting transform through patience, precision, and devotion is one of the most rewarding parts of our 15-Day Paubha Painting Masterclass.
Our participants are now in the final stage of their journey, with just a few more days left to complete their paintings. Stay tuned to witness these beautiful artworks in their finished form.

One of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher is receiving heartfelt words from students. This thoughtful card from one of our students truly made our day and reminds us why we love teaching art. Seeing students learn, grow, and gain confidence in their creative journey is incredibly fulfilling. Thank you for your kind words, trust, and appreciation—it means more than you know. ❤️

A memorable day of art, culture, and learning with the participants of our Advanced Paubha Painting Course and 15-Day Paubha Painting Masterclass.
We had an enriching visit to the MONA and the , where we explored an inspiring range of contemporary and traditional artworks by well known and talented Nepali artists. The experience offered valuable insights into artistic practices, craftsmanship, visual storytelling, and the evolving landscape of Nepali art.
We are deeply grateful to , Co-Curator of the Biennale, for her thoughtful guidance and insightful tour, which helped us engage more deeply with the artworks and curatorial vision.
As part of our outdoor learning experience, we also visited some of the Patan’s remarkable cultural and artistic heritage sites, including the Golden Temple (Hiranyavarna Mahavihar), Mahabouddha Temple, and Rudravarna Mahavihar. These visits provided participants with a unique opportunity to observe the rich artistic traditions, iconography, craftsmanship, and spiritual heritage that continue to inspire Paubha painting, traditional sculpture, and architecture today.
A special thank you to Shrawan Shakya for generously sharing his knowledge and leading us through these historic sites.
Learning art extends far beyond the studio. By engaging directly with museums, heritage monuments, and living traditions, we deepen our understanding of the cultural roots, artistic techniques, and visual language that shape our creative practice.

Graphite Portrait Study by Rachel
A remarkable graphite portrait study by our Portrait Drawing student Rachel, featuring the acclaimed Oscar-winning actor and star of The Pianist, Adrien Brody.
Through careful observation, patience, and attention to tonal values, Rachel has beautifully captured the actor's likeness, expression, and character using graphite. The subtle gradations of light and shadow, detailed rendering of the facial features, and expressive treatment of the hair demonstrate her growing confidence and technical skill in portrait drawing.
Portrait drawing is not only about achieving resemblance—it is about understanding form, structure, proportion, and the delicate relationship between light and shadow. This study reflects Rachel's dedication to developing these essential artistic skills.
We are proud to share her progress and look forward to seeing more of her artistic journey.
