Learning, creating, and taking action for our planet 🌏🌱

GEMS School celebrated World Environment Day with a fun-filled and meaningful day of activities that inspired our learners to think about their role in building a more sustainable future.

Students explored this year's environmental themes through art, participated in art and craft competitions, and contributed to a tree plantation programme. The celebrations also included engaging sharing sessions with members of our own school community working in the fields of environment and climate change, giving learners valuable insights from experts and changemakers.

It was a day filled with creativity, collaboration, and conversation, reminding us that protecting our planet begins with small actions and shared responsibility.

Environment Day Celebration: Turning Trash into Treasures!

Our Grade 4 learners showcased their creativity and commitment to sustainability by transforming what seemed like waste into wonderful treasures. Using tiny pencils that had become too small to write with and leftover clay from art class, they crafted beautiful display pieces that prove imagination has no limits.

Through this hands-on project, our young environmentalists learned that even the smallest items can be given a new purpose instead of being thrown away.

We are proud of our learners for demonstrating creativity, responsibility, and care for our planet, one recycled masterpiece at a time!

Our Grade 1 learners took the stage to present an assembly on School Rules.

Through speeches, actions, and a lively chant, they highlighted the importance of safety, respect, responsibility, and organisation in our daily school life. Their presentation served as a wonderful reminder that every member of the GEMS community plays a role in creating a positive learning environment where everyone can thrive.

Together, we continue to learn, grow, and lead the GEMS way.

Celebrating World Environment Day 2026 with our enthusiastic Grade I learners!

From a lively art competition to a refreshing nature walk, our young explorers collected leaves, twigs, flowers, and more, transforming nature’s treasures into beautiful creative collages. They also took a step further in caring for the Earth by creating a charming garden corner in their classroom, bringing nature closer to their everyday learning space.

Through these hands-on experiences, learners discovered how small actions can make a big difference in protecting our planet and responding to climate change.
A joyful day of creativity, care, and connection with nature!

“Every leaf, seed, and pebble tells a story about the wonders of nature."

A part of the entry point activity, our Grade 5 learners excitedly explored the National Botanical Garden, Godawari. Being nature detectives, they observed their surroundings and collected natural objects from the ground, such as leaves, seeds, pebbles, and feathers, while respecting and protecting living plants and animals.

This hands-on experience reflected our progressive education approach by encouraging inquiry, exploration, and learning through real-life experiences. Learners demonstrated rich human values of respect, responsibility, and empathy while caring for the environment. They also showed commitment and responsibility by understanding the importance of protecting nature and contributing positively to society.

Through this activity, learners practised their Personal Learning Goal of Adaptability by exploring a new environment with curiosity and confidence.
