Excursion & Field Visit Report

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, Sugata Buddhist College (affiliated with Lumbini Buddhist University and a sister concern of Nepal Buddhist Council) conducted a spiritually enriching field trip and pilgrimage to the Sankhu Vajrayogini site.

Under the leadership of Principal Sunita Bajracharya, the delegation of 36 participants included students, faculty, and prominent board members of the Nepal Buddhist Council, led by First Vice Chairman Mr. Purna Man Chitrakar.

Highlights of the Pilgrimage
Sacred Rituals: The group began by paying homage to Vajrayogini (Sarvabuddha Dakini) at the main temple. This was followed by a detailed Mamaki puja, performed by Mr. Shantasri Bajracharya, with the Principal acting as the patron (Jajamana).

Meditation: The team journeyed to the Nagarjuna and Milarepa caves. Participants engaged in a period of meditation, reporting a profound sense of tranquility and spiritual connection in these historically blessed locations.

Educational Session: An assembly emceed by Mr. Nirnaya Bikram Dangol featured:

A welcome address by Principal Bajracharya.

Discourses on the spiritual significance and practice of Vajrayogini by Mr. Milan Shakya.

Insights into the morning’s liturgical rites by Mr. Shantasree Ratna Bajracharya.

A closing vote of thanks by Mr. Purna Man Chitrakar.

Conclusion
The day concluded with communal meals at a local restaurant, marking the event as a significant success for both the college and the Nepal Buddhist Council.
