What a day! An action packed adventurous day with Room 13 and 16 at Camp Tekapo. First up was a hike up Mt John to see the amazing view on such a spectacular day! We followed this up with some awesome tubing with fast paced sliding from students, parents and teacher! Go Mrs Naylor! And then a spot of relaxing in the hot pools. The kids have been fantastic and we are all impressed with their RAISE values on tour. After tea we are heading up to check out some ice hockey action and some stargazing across the Milky Way. Everyone will sleep well tonight!

The Room 13/16 Tekapo Camp is officially underway! After waking up to a slightly damp morning and gloomy skies, we managed to evade the rain all day. We enjoyed morning tea in Omarama and lunch in Twizel before heading towards Lake Tekapo. The children have been awesome.
Once here, we visited the Church of the Good Shepherd and the statue of Friday the dog. We also enjoyed a lakefront walk, and we have tested out the many playgrounds along the way.
We are closing off the night with chicken burgers, followed by ice cream sundaes, and some quiet time working in our camp books. Everyone is heading towards bed soon with a full puku, gearing up for tomorrow!

🌞 What an absolute blockbuster of a day at Tekapo Camp! 🏔️✨

We are feeling incredibly lucky (and a little bit exhausted, but in the best way possible!) after a jam-packed day of adventures. Here is a little glimpse into what we’ve been up to:

Sunrise Spectacular: We started bright and early, watching the sun rise over the lake. Total magic.

Mt John Observatory: Next, we l\ hiked up to the observatory. We even got to see the massive telescopes in action!

Afternoon Thrills & Chills: After a quick unch back at camp, we hit the slopes for some snow tubing, followed by a much-deserved soak in the hot pools.

Camp Vibes: Back at base, the competitive spirit came out with some awesome camp games.

Right now, we are resting up and getting ready for the grand finale—Star Gazing tonight! The Tekapo sky is looking perfect for it.

Take a look through the photos to see all the happy, tired faces. Such lucky kids creating memories to last a lifetime!

The Room 14/15 Tekapo Camp is officially underway, and we could not have asked for a more picture-perfect start! We woke up to crispy, frosty ground underfoot, but overhead, it's been nothing but clear bluebell skies all day long.

We had morning tea in Omarama and lunch in Twizel before heading towards Lake Tekapo. The children are amazing with such positive attitudes.

We visited the The Church of the Good Shepherd and the Collie Dog statue. We also enjoyed a lakefront walk and had a few competitions down by Lake Tekapo.

Closing off the night with chicken burgers and charades, Everyone went to bed with a full puku and a positive outlook on tomorrow.

How it Works:

Free Ropes: Every student will receive their own skipping rope to keep just for participating!

Fundraising: This is entirely optional. If you choose to, you can join our school’s digital fundraising page here: https://www.jumpingjune.org.nz/event/the-terrace-school

Entry Code: theterrace (Please click skip when it asks you for your class)
Prizes: There are great incentives for students who reach fundraising milestones, but the real goal is getting active and having fun together!

Flyers will be coming home in school bags shortly with our unique school code. Let's get our hearts pumping and show off those skipping skills!

Home Throughout June, our students are getting active, building their skipping skills, and raising funds to support heart health across Aotearoa.
