We love seeing opportunities like this that encourage young people to explore science, creativity and New Zealand’s growing space sector in a hands-on way.

Definitely worth sharing with any young space enthusiasts in your classroom or community 👇

🚀 Patch to the Future is now live - a mission patch design competition for Years 1–8 (ages 5-13) from our New Zealand Space Agency.

🛰️ This is a chance for students to explore space, science and New Zealand’s place in space through a mission patch design.

🔭 A mission patch is a small, circular design that represents an idea, goal, or mission. Astronauts wear them on their space suits to celebrate their mission – and now Kiwi kids can design one too.

✨ The winning design will be turned into an official New Zealand Space Agency patch – plus - the winner will get a limited edition New Zealand Space Agency jacket featuring their design!

Earth Day is a reminder how lucky we are to call this place home.

And even more so to be able to share it with the next generation, so they can understand it and care about it.

“Top notch demonstration of New Zealand.” That was the feedback from a teacher following Singapore American School’s Environment, Culture & Impact Tour.

Across the North Island, students explored how conservation, culture and sustainability are part of everyday life in Aotearoa.

The group visited the University of Waikato Coastal Marine Field Station to learn how technology supports marine research, took part in a local beach clean up, and experienced how tourism can help regenerate native forest at Rotorua Canopy Tours.

They also contributed to conservation work with the National Kiwi Hatchery, spent the night at a Marae learning about Māori culture and values, and explored Sanctuary Mountain, one of the world’s largest pest proof conservation projects.

Experiences like these show how New Zealand becomes a powerful classroom for environmental and cultural learning.

How do destinations tell their story to the world?

Our new North Island Tourism and Communications itinerary is now live.

Travelling from Auckland to Wellington, this journey explores how destinations are experienced, interpreted and shared with visitors. Along the way students visit places such as Goat Island Marine Reserve, Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Rotorua, Whirinaki Forest and Tongariro National Park.

Each stop offers a different lens into New Zealand’s tourism industry, from conservation and cultural storytelling to regional destinations and visitor experiences.

If you are starting to think about a future tour to New Zealand, this itinerary is a great place to begin exploring what is possible.

The Easter break often brings a bit of breathing room after a busy first term. It is also when many teachers start thinking about bigger ideas for the year ahead.

New Zealand offers so many possibilities for learning beyond the classroom. From geothermal landscapes to conservation projects, marine reserves, alpine environments and cultural experiences across the country.

If you could take your class anywhere in New Zealand, where would you go?

If a tour idea has been sitting in the back of your mind, now could be a good time to start exploring it.

Today we said goodbye to our first Hawaii group travelling through New Zealand on their Science & Culture Tour.

Over the past couple of weeks the group explored Aotearoa through hands on learning experiences across physics, biology and ecology, combined with cultural learning and some of our most iconic landscapes.

Along the way they experienced:

• Geothermal science at Wai-o-Tapu and Huka Falls
• Māori cultural learning in Rotorua
• Antarctic and aerospace education in Christchurch
• Dark Sky stargazing in Tekapo exploring the physics of our night skies
• Field experiences from Mt Cook to Milford Sound

This tour has been a long held dream for their teacher to bring students to New Zealand and explore our landscapes through real world science and cultural experiences.

A pretty special way to learn.

Not your typical classroom.

Drake University recently travelled through Australia on a programme exploring culture, environment and social impact through real world experiences.

Along the way the group experienced:

• Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary
• A guided tour of the Sydney Opera House
• A social impact session with Our Big Kitchen
• Time with Tranby Aboriginal Co-operative
• A full day cultural experience at Mossman Gorge
• A Great Barrier Reef day cruise from Port Douglas

Educational travel at its best, connecting people, place and learning.

Behind every Haka Educational and Sports Tour is a huge amount of planning, coordination and problem solving happening behind the scenes.

Our Operations team are the people bringing itineraries to life, working with suppliers, locking in logistics and supporting groups once they hit the road.

Anna leads that work as our Operations Supervisor, looking after the ops team and helping make sure every tour runs smoothly from planning through to delivery.

Swipe through to get to know Anna and what life in operations looks like.

Culinary Camp was a standout for Western Springs College on their Food Tech Tour in Italy.

Students spent two days learning from FarmerChef Lorenzo, cooking, tasting, creating and discovering the heart of Umbrian food traditions. 🍕🤤

Such a unique opportunity, and amazing to see it brought to life for this group.
