Construction Theme : Learning Through Play

This month in Koru Room our theme is CONSTRUCTION

Today we provided a meaningful learning experience linked to our monthly theme. Tamariki explored construction through dress-up uniforms with construction vests and hats, creating opportunities for imaginative play and role modelling. They also enjoyed marching together, building confidence and having fun while moving and exploring.

During mat time, Kaiako Ala led a wonderful construction book reading session. Tamariki listened with interest, explored new vocabulary, and showed excitement while learning about construction in an engaging way.

This experience links to our KIDS values:

K – Knowledge: Tamariki developed new knowledge about construction, uniforms, and construction tools through books and hands-on play.

I – Identity: Tamariki expressed themselves through dress-up and developed confidence as they explored different roles and worked together.

D – Discovery: Tamariki discovered new ways to move, imagine, and engage with construction-themed experiences.

S – Success: Tamariki showed enthusiasm, participation, and achievement as they explored and learned together.

Pakipaki everyone πŸ‘πŸ‘ for another exciting day of learning, discovery, and fun in Koru Room!

Have a great weekend

Today our Karaka tamariki enthusiastically engaged in tracing activities, helping to strengthen their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and pencil control. Through these experiences, they practised making marks and following lines, building confidence in their early writing skills.

The tamariki also enjoyed exploring gloop outdoors, where they used their senses to investigate its unique texture and properties. They had lots of fun mixing, squeezing, and playing together, developing their gross motor skills, creativity, and social interactions through hands-on exploration.

Ka pai, Karaka tamariki, for your curiosity, learning, and positive participation throughout the day! 😊🌿🎨

Today, our Karaka tamariki used their creativity and imagination while developing their scissor skills. They practised cutting and pasting using glue, carefully cutting out different food items and placing them onto their plates. This activity supported their fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, and confidence in using tools independently.

Alongside this learning experience, our tamariki enthusiastically explored their outdoor environment, engaging in active play with lots of energy and excitement. They demonstrated curiosity, confidence, and a love for discovering new ways to play and learn with their peers.

Ka pai, Karaka tamariki! We are proud of your growing skills, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. 🌟
