Our tamariki had a wonderful time baking cookies together today! From measuring and mixing to sharing and creating, every step was filled with learning, teamwork, and joy.

Space groups for your baby at Playcentre around Auckland. Space groups will start in the week beginning 20 July 2026.

Space is a great way to enjoy some special time with your baby while meeting other parents with babies the same age. Our groups are relaxed, safe, and nurturing environments that provide a variety of activities for you and your baby.

🍦💛 Whanaungatanga & Manaakitanga in action at Herne Bay Playcentre 💛🍦

Today’s play was a beautiful reminder of what makes our centre so special. With an ice cream maker brought from home by one of our tamariki, the playdough play became a hub of creativity, sharing, and connection.

Through this simple activity, we saw whanaungatanga—children and whānau coming together, building relationships, collaborating, and learning from one another. There was so much joy in working side by side, taking turns, and celebrating each other’s ideas.

We also experienced manaakitanga—caring, kindness, and generosity. From offering a turn with the ice cream maker to encouraging friends in their creations, our tamariki showed such beautiful respect and support for one another.

Moments like these highlight the magic of play and the strength of our Playcentre community. Ngā mihi nui to the whānau who contribute pieces of home to enrich our shared space 💛
